WWII – Architectural plans to Heinrich Himmler’s mansion at Tagernsee – ephemera original architectural plans for the mansion at Tagernsee which became Himmler’s personal retreat throughout WWII. Drawn on a single large sheet of paper approx 50x48ins. An ms note to verso indicates that this was a duplicate plan – no doubt given to Himmler for his own inspection. Slight weakness in folds^ and a few minor close tears – easily conserved in our estimation. The drawings show the house in profile and plan with detailed drawings of the floor plan of the house showing rooms etc. A number of high profile Nazis had mansions built for them around the idyllic lake at Tagernsee^ south of Munich. Himmler’s was one of the finest. It naturally fell vacant in 1945^ but still stands today as a private residence.
