Some wear to gilding and silvering on dial, particularly around name plate. Case believed to be original but with some restoration. Door lock and hinges replaced and some mounts possible replacements

A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SECRETAIRÉ CABINET ON CHEST having a broken architectural arched surmount with dentil detail, a fret-cut frieze and two fielded panel doors, the central adjustable shelving between banks of ten brass strung drawers, the lower stage having a moulded rectangular top, a deep secretairé drawer concealed as two cockbeaded drawers, the fall-front opening to reveal an arrangement of drawers and pigeon holes, all over three long graduating cockbeaded drawers, each with replacement ornate cast brass handles, raised on ogee bracket feet. 231cm(h) x 111cm(w) x 57cm(d) Marks, stains and scratches, some depletions to veneer and mouldings, four of the upper sections internal drawers having missing circular tabs, replacement cupboard door to secretairé drawer, staining and cut sections to baize skiver, repaired feet, viewing advised.
