Original vintage propaganda poster Luftschutz - Air Raid Protection. The air protection office was until 1933 the supreme authority of military aviation. In April, the Reichswehr Minister Werner von Blomberg transferred the air protection office from his division to the Reich Aviation Ministry ( Hermann Göring ). Soon after the seizure of power , the Nazi regime initiated the first governmental measures, thereby preparing the populationto upcoming war. The Reichsluftschutzbund commissioned with the practical implementation (ie training and leadership of the population) also served Nazi propaganda in Germany, air raid protection was of particular importance during the Second World War . Powerful design by Ludwig Hohlwein featuring a Shield bearer holding a chield with a swastika, an important propaganda element in the Third Reich. This image was widely used for display in public placed and became part of the fundraising campaigns. Ludwig Hohlwein (27 July 1874 in Wiesbaden – 15 September 1949 in Berchtesgaden) was a German poster artist. He was trained and practiced as an architect until 1906, when he switched to poster design. Hohlwein's adaptations of photographic images was based on a deep and intuitive understanding of graphical principles. His creative use of color and architectural compositions dispels any suggestion that he uses photos as a substitute for creative design.
