An exhibition quality model of a Clarkson beam engine, built by the late Mr L.O.Gibbs of Hailsham, East Sussex with outside steam valve, displacement oiler, single cylinder with draincocks, steam control valve linked to ‘Watts type’ speed governor, parallel action to beam and beam operated water pump, eccentric rod linkage to steam valve, reeded architectural support to beam with split bearings, spoked flywheel with fitted drive pulleys driving small generator producing power to two street lamps. Fitted steps to side. The model is finished in green and red paintwork with polished brightwork and mounted on scaled brickwork plinth and mahogany base. The engine comes together with a gas fired ‘Heritage Models’ horizontal boiler No 2H1051 having fitted sight-glass, pressure gauge, safety valve and gas tank on wooden plinth. Engine measurements 22cm wide, 48cm long. Total height 35cm
An early 20th Century oak cased mantel clock by Winterhelder and Hoffmeier, in architectural case with faux brickwork, the silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and brass spandrels, with striking ting tang movement, 41cm high, together with an Edwardian mahogany lancet cased mantel timepiece.
