A superb collection entitled "Domestic Markings of the Stampless Era in Cuba", written up on 39 pages (incl cover page), comprising 72 covers with a wonderful range of markings incl 66 from the "Baeza" period, many are rated as per the "Prefilatelia Espanola" incl 19 rated "R" (between 25 and 50 known), 20 rated "RR" (between 12 and 25 known) and 2 rated "RRR" (between 4 and 12 known), the latter two being 1856 Baeza type II in green on a cover from Guanajay to Havana rated '1' rael in blue, and 1851 cover sent from Havana on June 17 to San Cristobal with the Baeza type 'I' in blue (RR) rated '1½' reales in blue and with the Baeza type 'II' in green (dated 19 June) applied on arrival (RRR). Also noted 1842 cover (very fragile) from Piner del Rio to Habana (Havana), with both the straight-line PINAL DEL RIO h/s in red (RR) and Baeza type 'I' also in red (R) applied on arrival, this being the first year of use for the latter postmark, also covers with high postage rates to 120 reales, a wide range of m/s markings indicating previous payment of postage dues "FRANCO" and "PARRILLA" markings the latter combined with straight-line and Baeza cancels, a wonderful lot for display and expansion.
