Alfred Hitchens (1861-1942)oil on canvasTriple portrait of the children of Samuel and Maud McAulay (1856-1920 and 1859-1936) Francis Wilmer (1891-1916), Phyllis Maud (1892-1982) and Grace Marion (1893-1970?)signed and dated 190032 x 38in.CONDITION: Oil on original canvas in honest untouched condition, housed under glass but paint still rather dirty with a fine craquelure running throughout the darker paint which is starting to split apart particularly on the left hand side of the work, signed by Alfred Hitchens and dated 1900 lower left, housed in the original gilt gesso frame which has numerous small losses but is overall in fair order, label to the back of the canvas saying Phyllis M. Peck.
An early 20th century Austro-Hungarian? gold and blue sardonyx set signet ring, the matrix carved with ornate crest, indistinct marks to the shank, size approx. M/N, (currently has ring sizer insert), gross 12.8 grams.CONDITION: Ring sizer insert has left indentations to the interior of the shank. Minor surface scratches to the top of the stone. Minor scratches to the metal in general, commensurate with age and some use.
Lance Corporal William Albert Warren of the 2/4th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment - Warren's original 1907 pattern Wilkinson made rifle bayonet. Regimentally marked to the pommel ' T 4DVN 420 ' (for Territorial 1/4th Battalion Devonshire Regiment). The bayonet of typical form with hooked pommel, carved walnut grips, hooped quillon, the ricasso marked Wilkinson, and dated 1907 with GR cipher. Other official stampings to other side. Housed in its original leather and steel scabbard. Generally in excellent original used condition. Supplied with a period picture postcard photograph of Warren in uniform, taken at Lyme Regis. Rare to see a bayonet with such provenance. William Albert Warren was born in Minehead, and Baptised on 7th November 1896. Son of William Frederick and Annie Warren. In 1911 he was residing with his parents at The Assembly Rooms, Lyme Regis, Dorset. During WW1 he served with the 2/4th Devonshire Regiment and later with the 4th Wiltshire Regiment. He married Ethel M. Mitchell in 1923 at Lyme Regis.

Leitz, Wetzlar, 7 x 50 optics and the number 459430, the front and rear optic cups have the usual black rubber mounts for optic protection, the optics appear to be fine and working, the black leather case is embossed with the National Eagle/Swastika on the lid, together with 'M', the side of the case is embossed 'beh' 1944, case has the elasticate fastening stud, together with carry strap, these style optics were issued throughout WWII to Surface and U Boats of the Kriegsmarine
