Franz Adam1815 Mailand - 1886 MünchenReiter mit Raupenhelm - Feldmarschall Johann Josef Wenzel Graf von Radetzky zu PferdZwei Gemäldeminiaturen. R. u. signiert und 1831 datiert bzw. u. M. signiert und 1852 datiert. Öl auf Lwd. auf Karton bzw. Öl auf Weißblech. 10,9 x 8,9 bzw. 11 x 8,8 cm. Besch. Rahmen min. besch. Franz Adam war der zweite Sohn des Künstlers Albrecht Adam und Schüler seines Vaters. Bereits 1848 hatte Albrecht Adam, nachdem er in Mailand Radetzky vorgestellt worden war, ein Bildnis desselben, auf einem Apfelschimmel sitzend, geschaffen (Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen, Neue Pinakothek, WAF 11). 1858 präsentierte schließlich Franz Adam sein eigenes, "nach dem Leben gemaltes", lebensgroßes Reiterbildnis des Feldmarschalls auf der Münchener Kunstausstellung. Die Zusammenarbeit der Mitglieder der Künstlerfamilie Adam miteinander ist in vielen Fällen belegt. Es kann davon ausgegangen werden, dass Franz Adam die Studien seines Vaters zu dessen Radetzky-Bildnis kannte, bei unserem Gemälde aus diesen Vorbildern schöpfte, um dann später sein großes Reiterbildnis Radetzkys anzufertigen. Unterlagen in öffentlichen Archiven, die das belegen, konnten bislang nicht ausfindig gemacht werden. Das Gemälde ist nicht Teil der im Zentralarchiv der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin überlieferten Liste der an Lucie Meyerheim auszuliefernden Bilder des Nachlasses vom 21.4.1932, ebenso ist es nicht Teil der Nachlass-Auktion 'Lesser Ury' bei Cassirer am 21. Dezember 2016, Kat.-Nr.-1 (zurückgezogen, nicht bei "artnet") Das Gemälde entstand während eines Sommeraufenthaltes 1924, als Lesser Ury mehrere Wochen auf Schloß Reichartshausen verbrachte. Er bereiste vor allem das Mittelrheintal mit seinen Burgen, Ruinen und Schlössern. Die von Ury dargestellten Bauwerke lassen sich nicht identifizieren. Im Hintergrund erkennt man einen in der Morgensonne rot aufleuchtenden Burgturm mit Zinnenkranz, am linken Bildrand die Stirnseite eines Gebäudes mit Mauereinfassung. Es entstanden Gemälde und Pastelle von "ungeahnt jugendlichem Temperament", wie der damalige Direktor der Berliner Nationalgalerie Ludwig Justi bemerkt. Er kaufte für die Sammlung mehrere Bilder für die Nationalgalerie, darunter auch das Werk mit dem Titel "Morgensonne" von 1924, welches in Sujet und Stil mit unserem Gemälde verwandt ist und heute noch im Besitz der Nationalgalerie ist. Echtheitsbestätigung: Eine schriftliche Echtheitsbestätigung von Frau Dr. Sibylle Groß vom 8. September 2016 liegt vor. Das Gemälde stammt aus dem künstlerischen Nachlass von Lesser Ury. Im Inventar des Nachlasses wird das Bild unter der Nummer 107 mit dem Titel "Schlossruine am Rhein" geführt. Ausstellung: Nationalgalerie Berlin. Lesser Ury.
