THE CHURLS - S/T US TEST PRESSING (SP 4169). The monstrous 1968 LP from the Canadian screamers, seen here is the original US test pressing (A&M SP 4169). The record is in well presented Ex condition with just a couple of rather light and minor surface markings. Housed, as was common with this release, with a generic white sleeve.

Totem B.R. (M) GREAT BRIDGE NORTH, FIF. Ex. L. & N.W.R.station between Dudley and Wednesbury, opened 1850 by the South Staffordshire Railway. By the late 1800s it was evident that passenger services were not as viable as freight services, but it remained open until 1964. Rust evident on border, one chip lower right, 92cm x 25cm.

Abrasions and wear to the stones (although some may be obscured by dirt).

A rare and unusual brass-bound rosewood two-day Royal Observatory Marine Chronometer with Airy's Bar and Rokeby's side windingBy Charles Frodsham, London, No. 3169, circa 1860 and 1864The case of usual form, with hinged and glazed lids, the top inset with a brass escutcheon, and with ivory roundel to the front with Government arrow and inscribed FRODSHAM No 3169, below a push-piece and with brass lock escutcheon below, with brass carrying handles and on later bun feet; the gimballed brass bowl with counter-weight and glazed bezel with thin reflecting ring, the silvered dial signed Charles Frodsham, 84 Strand, London. No. 3169, engraved with garter testimonials at X and XII and engraved With Airy's Compensation, Roman chapters and Arabic five-minute markers, fine blued steel fleur-de lys hands, with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds subsidiary and engraved with the Government arrow, the chain fusée movement inscribed Charles Frodsham LONDON, and with government mark, Earnshaw detent escapement, cut bi-metallic compensated balance with Airy's bar, the fusée square with large brass wheel for engagement to Rokeby's side winding mechanism, together with an ivory handled crank key19 cm. square. Langham Rokeby, R. M., designed in 1863 an arrangement with a vertical spindle mounted on the side of the bowl. For the wheel and the pinion to engage, the key had to be pressed firmly down with the chronometer locked into its gimbals. This arrangement was fitted to one or two Admiralty chronometers for trial but they were apparently found to be clumsy and easily deranged.
An emerald and diamond three stone ring, the baguette cut emerald in four claw setting, approximately 0.96 carats, set within two round brilliant cut diamonds, each approximately 0.35 carats, all set in white to a plain shank, unmarked, 3.8g gross, finger size M CONDITION REPORT: Emerald with inclusions visible under 10x lens with some wear to facet edges. Diamonds approximately Si clarity with no damage. The cast shank showing only slight signs of wear with jewellers scratch marks to the inside of the shank. Ring in good condition. Lack of marks, setting and wear would indicate 2nd half of 20th century.Emerald is bright and vibrant - L 6.49mm x w 5.82mm x d 3.76mm. Appears fairly clean to the naked eye and transparent. Under 10x lens several inclusions are visible with areas of small dark inclusions, the largest to the outside of the stone to the centre. Approximate colour of diamonds L-M. One diamond Si clarity with black inclusions immediately visible through table facet. The other stone has a small chip to a crown facet by the girdle but no obvious internal inclusions. It does however need a proper clean and there could be inclusions behind the claws.
A Victorian 18 carat gold black enamel 'In Memory Of' mourning ring, London 1867, the inside inscribed 'My dear Father Obt Apr 23 1868 at 69' and 'My dear Brother Obt Nov 8 1867 at 40', 4.2g gross, finger size O CONDITION REPORT: Under a 10 x lens there are small knocks and scratches visible to areas of the enamel. There is a larger chip beneath the letter 'E' and second 'M' and above the letter 'R'. These are only noticeable under extreme close inspection. Generally in very good order with clear engraving and hallmarks. No damage or wear to the gold.
