An original extraterrestrial costume as seen worn in the Steven Spielberg film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Columbia Pictures, 1977). This extraterrestrial costume includes an original hand-painted rubber mask with holes present at the eyes, nose, and mouth, as well as a tan bodysuit, both from the production of the film. The interior of the mask is lined with foam padding, as well as a Velcro strap present on the back side of the mask. On the inner lining of the neck, an illegible name is present. A tag on the bodysuit reads size "M." Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Spielberg's follow-up to the massive success of Jaws (Universal Pictures, 1975), chronicled the adventures of Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss), an electrical lineman in Indiana who encounters a group of unidentified flying objects and his experience develops into an all-consuming obsession that threatens to unravel his life. He soon becomes convinced of a government cover-up and is compelled to travel to Wyoming to witness the return of the mother ship.The movie opened to strong reviews, incredible box office earnings (it was the studio's highest-grossing release to that date), and was nominated for nine Academy Awards. In 2007, the film was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the United States Library of Congress and added to the National Film Registry for preservation.According to Close Encounters of the Third Kind Diary (Paradise Press, 1978) written by actor Bob Balaban, who appeared in the film as a translator, the aliens were portrayed by 50 six-year-old girls. Property of a Ruislip, UK, gentleman, by inheritance. Assyrian and Urartian officers are identified by their weapons in the reliefs. It is not so easy to definitely identify cavalry officers on the palace reliefs of the Assyrian kings, but their identification is based mainly on the context they appear in, and on some insignia (mace, sceptre) they carry with them. Hence, the mace was not only a practical weapon, but also a command insignia. [No Reserve]

Composed of a C-shaped socketted hilt and slender blade with single cutting edge slightly curved towards the tip; the outer face of the socket, the top edge and one side of the blade inlaid with gilt inscription, the other side of the blade displaying two gilt felines. These elements are rare and quite diverse. They consist of a metal cylinder with rows of juxtaposed points. There are between 3 and 8 rows each, comprising 3 to 5 more or less pronounced spikes. Circa 15th-16th century A.D. Roughly circular in plan and displaying semi-naturalistic detailing in high relief. See similar mount with lion image in PAS, no. GLO-DFAF55. 1.3 kg, 10 cm (4 in.). Found Berkshire, UK, circa 2008 by M. Ruczynski. A number of similar objects are known from the PAS e.g: LVPL-844BB9, LIN-66994E, LVPL-F93881, YORYM-0E94A7 and KENT-AD3C5C. Many of these are fairly crudely made and variably worn, The smallest heads are probably horse harness, but this one, for weight and dimensions can be the mount for a wooden chariot or from a building, or some instrument linked to the firing activity.

The 'Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem' was an order of knighthood under the protection of the Pope, formed around 1099 A.D. by Duke Godfrey of Bouillon, the leader of the First Crusade. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by search certificate number no.11692-199339. The 'Riace Bronzes' are two full-size Greek bronzes of bearded warriors, dating from about 450 B.C. that were found in the sea near Riace, Calabria, southern Italy in 1972. They are now in the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia in the city of Reggio Calabria.

Stamped 1888 A.D. Stamped 'W D 50 HENRY POTTER & CO 30. CHARING CROSS LONDON C&M 1888'; scratched graffiti near the mouth reading 'N.Irish Horse'; decorative fabric cord. 648 grams, 43 cm (17 in.). Acquired from The Antiques Storehouse, UK, 2015. The Kusmirek Collection, UK. Accompanied by a copy of the invoice and other information. Produced for the North Irish Horse (60th Imperial Yeomanry) regiment and was presented to a Colonel at some stage in its history. The NIH is a yeomanry unit of the British Territorial Army raised in the northern counties of Ireland in the aftermath of the Second Boer War.
