In an overall reasonable state of mostly original condition. There are three visible patch repairs to the reverse of the canvas. One approx. 1 cm by 1 cm along upper edge towards left hand corner. A further square patch reapitr approx 4 cm by 4 cm just left of the inscription verso and a further approx 1 cm by 1 cm patch repair just above approx. centre (images can be supplied). There is some evident associated retouching to the front, most notably that relating to the larger patch. Relatively pronounced stretcher shadow,m particularly along upper edge. Canvas slightly loose on stretcher. Relatively pronounced and widely spaced craquelure essentially across entire surface which remains stable. Covered in a thick layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. Slight buckle to corner especially upper right hand side. Not examined with a UV light. Frame in an overall poor state of repair with various losses and rudimentary infilling.
