WWI Medal Trio, 6744 PTE M. TAYLOR 2nd Btn South Lancs Rgt. Comprising 1914 Star, The British War Medal and the Allied Victory Medal. Added information:Forfeited Medals , tried by DCM for desertion being found guilty, all former service to 11/7/1916 forfeited. One of 5 soldiers charged with desertion, one of the 5 was selected and executed, the other 4 after due punishment were returned to duty. PTE Taylor re-submitted under ACI 1921 while still serving with regiment and awarded his due medals.
