DON SOMMER REPRODUCTION STUTZ SUN GOD `RA` MASCOTDon Sommer reproduction 1926 - 1935 Stutz `Ra` car mascot. The sun god was the center of the ancient Egyptian world. Discovery of King Tutankhamun`s tomb in 1922 gave fuel to art deco`s primitivists. No doubt, it inspired designers such as Aurelius M. Renzetti and D. Carlton Brown. Their Ra wears a `Neo-Egyptian` crown instead of the traditional solar disk. The placement of the divine cobra and other features bear striking similarity to Tut`s headdress. The stepped back patterns here convey power, strength and gravity. Measures 4 1/4" height x 4 1/4" width x 5 3/8" length (10.7cm x 10.7cm x 13.6cm). Total weight of 1896 grams.
