Together with GB proof set of coins 1971 incase; crowns 1889 (2) NF and F, EIIR Crowns (9) various, Cartwheel twopence 1797 NVF some verdigris to rev; Geo III bank token for 3 shillings 1811 F, shilling 1842 F, Penny 1901 NEF, and approx 450 sundry other coins, British and foreign, some Geo V halfcrowns included, and 28 badges etc. All housed in a leather case (stitching AF)
An RAF replacement “Observers’ and Air Gunners’ Flying Log Book”, to Sgt Coult, covering the period 27/8/40 to 12/3/41, initially on ferrying flights with Ansons, later on Wellingtons, including operational flights to Hannover, Dusseldorf, Wilhelmshaven-Bremerhaven, the last flight being to Bremen 12/3/41 where he was apparently lost in action, the title page and last entry page stamped “Death Presumed” and RAF Central Depository July 1947, with a covering letter from the Central Depository dated 16th July 1947, to Miss M C Coult, presumably Sgt Coult’s sister. A Third Reich 7x50 Kreigsmarine prismatic binocular, by Beh (Leitz) No 395003 (T) 34911 with individual eyepiece focusing, marked with eagle and swastika above M, black finish, retaining strap, GWO & C (lens clouded, one prism chipped, covering damaged, forward sections replaced), with bakelite eyepiece cover (detached) and black leather case, the lid stamped with Kreigsmarine eagle. A nineteenth century oak longcase clock, with swan neck pediment above pierced scrolled fretwork, having arched door flanked by turned columns enclosing a movement by M Collingwood of Alnwick, the painted enamelled dial with Roman chapters and floral spandrels beneath an arched landscape panel with figure and sheep standing by tree, the trunk with rectangular door and corner quarter columns, raised on moulded panel base with roundels to corners and supported on bracket feet - complete with brass pendulum, pair of weights and key.
