1897 Stamps of Egypt overprinted SOUDAN (type 1), 1m pale brown, 3m orange-yellow, 5m rose-carmine, 1p ultramarine and 2p orange-brown (SG 1 and 3-7) each in vertical strip of six, showing the six varieties of the overprint (the 1m in block of twelve - 2 strips), mostly with small imperfections, the 2p gum bends light overall gum toning and folded through centre perfs causing part separation and perf faults, the 5m part o.g. the others large part or u/m
1926-35 Officials, group of 30 imperfs with 'Cancelled' underprint, 1m orange to 50m blue-green incl additional printings of some values (each identified by year on reverse), incl 1m (3), 2m (2), 3m (2), 4m (2), 5m (6), 10m rose-lake, 10m bright violet (4), 15m blue, 15m purple (2), 20m blue (3), 20m olive-green, 50m blue-green (3), also corresponding issued stamps (only five 5m) from royal collection with identifying handstamps, these u/m (59), only 100 sets possible (SG O138/49 variety, Balian 264b/75b)
Wholesale stock of commemoratives between1981 to 1989 (not comprehensive), all in complete sheets (these mostly of 50), quantities vary from a single sheet of each up to 36 sheets of the 1983 World Tourism Day 1af, some complete sets present but majority are odd values, all appear to be fine u/m (559 sheets), stated by vendor to cat £18,000+ (an inventory accompanies the lot)
A superb collection entitled "Domestic Markings of the Stampless Era in Cuba", written up on 39 pages (incl cover page), comprising 72 covers with a wonderful range of markings incl 66 from the "Baeza" period, many are rated as per the "Prefilatelia Espanola" incl 19 rated "R" (between 25 and 50 known), 20 rated "RR" (between 12 and 25 known) and 2 rated "RRR" (between 4 and 12 known), the latter two being 1856 Baeza type II in green on a cover from Guanajay to Havana rated '1' rael in blue, and 1851 cover sent from Havana on June 17 to San Cristobal with the Baeza type 'I' in blue (RR) rated '1½' reales in blue and with the Baeza type 'II' in green (dated 19 June) applied on arrival (RRR). Also noted 1842 cover (very fragile) from Piner del Rio to Habana (Havana), with both the straight-line PINAL DEL RIO h/s in red (RR) and Baeza type 'I' also in red (R) applied on arrival, this being the first year of use for the latter postmark, also covers with high postage rates to 120 reales, a wide range of m/s markings indicating previous payment of postage dues "FRANCO" and "PARRILLA" markings the latter combined with straight-line and Baeza cancels, a wonderful lot for display and expansion. 1952 "King of Egypt & Sudan" overprint colour trials of overprint with royal collection handstamps on reverse, but in issued colours incl postage 1m to £E1 (3m is type 91), express 40m, official 1m to 50m and postage due 2m to 50m (only one 10m), also normally issued postage 3m (SG 375) and air 100m (without opt) royal printing, imperforate on thin card with Arabic specimen underprint, all fine u/m or without gum as produced (Balian 487, 488, 489, 491, 492, 493, also 434c), postage 50p and £E1 and express 40m only 50 of each produced, others 100 produced, except 150 of air 100m

1836, December 29th, entire letter from Brian Hodgson, British Resident in Kathmandu, to James Prinsepp, the Anglo-Indian scholar, in Calcutta, with a good strike of the octagonal "Nepaul/Post Office/Paid" (Hellrigl B1) on the flap, rated "9as" in m/s, red Calcutta arrival and framed "AM" marking alongside, fine and rare this being the latest recorded use of this marking
