Clarity VS2-I1 some chips and surface reaching inclusions. Principal diamond approximately K/L colour and SI1/SI2 clarity. Colour for whole tiara I-M. Generally good condition, possible spot repairs, some pinnacles slightly bent. Possibly rhodium plated.

The books include ‘I Was Monty’s Double’ signed by M E Clifton James, an actor with strong resemblance to Field Marshal Montgomery whom the British used to their advantage during war time, ‘Memoirs’ signed by Jo Grimmond, the former leader of the Liberal Party and husband of Laura Bonham Carter, ‘Dowding and the Battle of Britain’ signed by Robery Wright, Downing’s personal assistant during the Battle of Britain, ‘No Common Glory’ signed by David Pilgrim and ‘The Rommel Papers’ signed by Frau Rommel, the wife of Erwin Rommel. Also sold with this collection of signed books is a copy of The Battle Of Britain, An Air Ministry Account, not signed.
A scarce framed and glazed vintage sepia b/w photograph of the R. M. S. Oronsay (the ship that carried the team to England for The Ashes) that has been signed by 16 members of the 1930 Australian cricket team including Bill Woodfull, Vic Richardson, Percy Hornibrook, Alan Kippax etc. Signed with bold fountain pens the signatures are clear and condition is generally very good with only one heavy corner crease, some light staining and a couple of minor pin holes.
The Memoirs of Field Marshal Montgomery, signed by Montgomery at the end of the Foreword, this page now being loose. Fourth impression of the book with tears to the outer sleeve and general signs of wear, such as the loose signed page. This autographed book is also accompanied by a letter addressed to Lord Montgomery requesting he signs the book, with a note written upon the letter stating ‘Yes, certainly. Send it to me. M of A, 27-10-60’.
