When the lever along the back is pressed down the owl turns its head to move the coin into the bank. Marked along the underside. Marked along the underside.Height: 7 1/2 in x width: 6 1/4 in x depth: 4 in.Condition: The bank functions. When the peg along the side is pulled the level can then be pressed and one figure will move forward while the other will ferry the coin into the back. The flap that would be along this area has come loose and is loose within the area where coins are held. There are losses to the paint and wear throughout consistent with age and use.

Group of two small silver engraved boxes. One Russian niello box with a village set in an ornate scrollwork cartouche along the top and underside; tested 80% silver. Marked along the interior. The other box with profuse floral and foliate motifs along with scrollwork; tested 90% coin silver. Marked along the lip of the box.Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Niello box; height: 3/4 in x width: 2 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. Silver box; height: 1/2 in x width: 3 in x depth: 2 in. Gross weight: 128.8 g.Condition: Light wear throughout. No major dents that would alter the overall appearance of each item; very minute dents along the edges. No visible cracks or losses. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. The cases open and close smoothly. Along the interior of each case, there are a few scattered areas that old polish has collected; light oxidation along the interior.
Group of two Prussian gold (.900) marks, each from the reign of the Kingdom of Prussia's King Wilhelm II. One 20 mark coin and one 10 mark coin. Each featuring a bust - uniformed on the 20 mark coin - of King Wilhelm II on the obverse and an Imperial Eagle under a crown facing left on the reverse. The 20 mark coin dated to 1914 and the 10 mark coin dated to 1903.Provenance: From the Estate of C. Curtis "Curt" Dunnavan, Long Lake, Minnesota.C. Curtis "Curt" Dunnavan (1926-2022) was a passionate world traveler and avid collector. It was through his travels that he was inspired to begin a lifelong relationship with the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia), becoming a major sponsor of the institute and facilitating the growth of their Asian art department, which is now one of the best in the country. His generous donations to Mia allowed them to establish a fund for the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer, one of the few endowed positions of this type in the museum field. He additionally served as a trustee of the institute, advocating for its operational growth. In its turn, the museum established a gallery named in his honor in recognition for his endowment fund and numerous contributions to their collection. The selections here showcase his talent and breadth of collecting, ranging from ancient statues to 19th-century woodblock prints.
