Two 19th century sovereign scales, including one by T Houghton (af), an early 19th century set of pocket steel and brass coin/sovereign scales, with a japanned oval metal case, also an 18th/19th century wooden Guinea scale cased with various Guinea and sovereign weights by John William Herbertz (lacking scales).
An early 19th century silver toddy ladle with twisted baleen handle, the bowl is inset with an 1820 Colombia Ferdinand Escudo gold coin, the underside of the bowl is monogrammed with the initials MJ, length 35cm. CONDITION REPORT The bowl is slightly misshapen, with dents, tarnished and scratched. The handle is scratched and dented near the bottom.

The lis punch used on the reverse of this coin is known only from this die and on the 2 testerns BCW 0-3 (PPM die 3)

The mintmark on the first coin is not clear, although the late owner believed that the base of the 1 is visible. The portcullis is from a repaired punch, as on the coins of 1601-2
