A SILVER RUSSIAN CUP AND TEA STRAINER comprising: a) the cup of cylindrical form, the body with a cobblestone motif, on the bottom is a coin, the cup marked with spurious Faberage mark, 91 standard, townmark and export mark around bottom foot rim; overall height: 7 cm (2 3/4 in.); weight: 64.28 g (2.07 ozt) b) the strainer verso and recto with architectural motifs, alternating with a floral bouquet, the lid featuring a floral motif with a budding finial, the strainer marked with worker master's mark, townmark and 875 standard on the bottom; overall height: 12 cm (4 3/4 in.); weight: 176.24 g (5.67 ozt)CONDITION Both appear in very good original condition. a) Minor tarnishing to the interior of the cup, visible to the naked eye. No significant issues to report otherwise. b) Darkening to the rim, base and lid. Rubbing to the body. Light surface scratches visible to the body. N.B. Original 1762 Coin reference books ‘A View of the Silver coin and coinage of England’ & ‘A View of the Copper coin and coinage of England’ by Thomas Snelling. Taken from the larger reference volume (as they are normally are) but as I can make out they are complete. With original receipt for the copper coin part.

H 5.5, D 24.5 cm.1815 - 21.The inventory of Prince Ludwig's possessions lists the “Contents of the tableware on 1st August 1826 in Luxembourg”.
