Sealed in its NGC holder (#6867540-007). Silver Threepences minted between 1942 and 1944 were all shipped to the British West Indies for Colonial use. This example is one of two examples graded MS 66 by NGC as joint top of the population. Circulating silver Threepences were phased out in favour of their 12-sided nickel-brass counterparts, with coins struck with a 1945 date melted down.

383-388 AD Magnus Maximus gold AV Solidus, London graded Ch AU by NGC (S 741). Obverse: right facing laureate draped bust, 'D N MAG MA XIMVS P F AVG' around. Reverse: two enthroned emperors, Maximus and Theodosius, facing, their hands on a globe, the winged figure of Victory between them, 'VICTOR IA AVGG' around with 'TROB' in exergue. Weight: 4.46g. Grade: Ch AU (Strike: 5/5, Surface: 3/5). Sealed in NGC holder (#6768192-001). Born in Gallaecia, Magnus Maximus served as an officer in the final years of Roman Britain, fighting the Picts and the Scots. He was proclaimed Emperor by British troops in the spring of 383 and, by the summer, had defeated Emperor Gratian to become the sole Emperor in the West. Initially, Magnus Maximus was recognised by Theodosius, as indicated by the harmonious reverse on this stunning Solidus. Soon after this coin was struck, Roman armies were withdrawn from Britain. This coincided with the end of official Roman coinage being minted in Londinium (London), making this coin the final gold issue struck by the Romans in the British Isles. He defeated the Emperor Gratian in the year 383, becoming the sole ruler in WestMagnus Maximum usurped the Emperor Gratian in the west of the Roman Empire in 383 AD

1765 Russian Empire Catherine II the Great copper 2 Kopeck overstruck on an earlier 1762 4 Kopeck coin of Peter III. Obverse: crowned royal cypher of Ekaterina II, dividing the date (1765) within a wreath of palm and laurel. Reverse: Saint George riding right slaying a dragon with a spear, 'СПМ' mintmark divided for Saint Petersburg Mint and 'ДВЕ∙КОПЕЙКИ' inscription on a scroll below. The reverse of this coin shows traces of lettering used on the reverse of the 1765 Peter III 4 Kopecks coin with a drum design. Weight: 17.56g. Diameter: 33.7mm. Grade: GF - Good Fine for issue - a scarce overstrike coin. Comes with an old annotated dealer's envelope.
