A ROMAN BRONZE FIGURE OF VENUS probably first century A.D., 7.5cm high, headless and with right arm missing from the shoulder, un-draped, with a copper or bronze coin lodged under the left arm, said to have been found in a river in Southern Italy (near Naples), possibly the River Liri, 7.5cm high; together with a Roman pottery oil lamp, of typical light grey moulded construction, the central circular area bearing the raised figure of a gladiator or milites (regular footsoldier), with shield (scutum) and gladius type sword; and a stone seal, (3).
