A post-factory engineered coin-operated key-wind Sublime-Harmony cylinder musical box, probably by Baker-Troll,Circa 1880, six-air movement with twin combs, half-length zither attachment, reeded gilt bedplate under dustlid, coin drop to now defunct chute through control board, ebonised interior, in good burr walnut veneered case, coin drawer to side, with domed lid and coin slot to right corner, (gone for a run) – 25.3/4” wide, the cylinder 13”.

No. 5431, with twin combs on reeded cast silvered titled bedplate, speed regulator, movement behind cover, glass missing, in the plinthed Britannia case with double finials, twin doors with crossbanding and stringing, 1d. coin slot and winding handle to right-hand side, change drawer below, ebonised moulded detail, with 18 discs – 26.1/2” high.
A very rare Komet 20.1/2-inch coin-operated upright disc musical box, by Weissbach & Co., Leipsig,German market, circa 1890, Ser. No. 1947, on 5 Pfennig play, Duplex combs of two sections each, shaped cast gilt bedplate, part gilt motor plates and coin chute, in imposing black stained oak cabinet in the gothic revival taste, with lancet arch glazed door with carved fret corners, Corinthian columns with bulbous centres, below bobbin frieze and broken-peaked pediment, on bun feet, retailer’s plaque to front for W. Naessens & Co., with 16 discs – 53” high, 33” wide, 19” deep.Footnote: Komet musical boxes of all disc diameters are rare due to very limited numbers produced, especially this example which is one of the non-standard Komet formats other than 13, 17, 21.5/8 or 33.1/2-inch size.
