A group of beaded purses, mostly 1920-30s, approx 18 including one with celluloid Egyptian pharaoh clasp; another with plated hunt scene clasp 1880s; blue knitted coin purse with metal beads c.1820; together with an Edwardian belt with EPNS links, and a 30s sequined collar (qty) CONDITION REPORT: Overall good condition with minor flaws commensurate with age. Clasps are working and beading intact with occasional losses. Egyptian: 2 small chips to celluloid (minor), otherwise good. Knitted blue coin purse: gilt lid is difficult to open and close, slightly bent. Hunt scene 1880s: tarnishing to frame, black silk needs repair at corners. Larger silver beaded: silk is fraying. Belt: tarnishing to metal links (minor). Checkerboard 'chainmail' set: several small repairs and holes in chainmail. Green velvet: slight moth damage/discolouration to velvet. Silver mesh: rust to frame. Silver beaded and velvet: rust to frame.
SPACE: Small selection of signed and unsigned First Day Covers and other commemorative items relating to various missions including Apollo-Soyuz, comprising a set of six unsigned covers issued to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Space Age, each featuring different colour images of paintings by Alexei Leonov, and also featuring a printed card, in Cyrillic, and biography of the cosmonaut, the card signed in blue fountain pen ink by Leonov, published by Franklin Philatelic in 1978 and contained in the presentation binder; a limited edition proof sterling silver coin issued to commemorate the Apollo-Soyuz mission, mounted alongside two postage stamps cancelled 17th July 1975 and contained in a presentation wallet; a Russian commemorative cover issued at the Baikonur Cosmodrome individually signed by Apollo-Soyuz crew members Tom Stafford and Vance Brand.
