Four boxes, to include a wooden jewelley box covered in various shells, a black circular trinket box with mother of pearl and New Zealand coin set lid signed Pacific, a heart shaped floral and enamel trinket box and an ornate oval shaped trinket box with a central stone cameo fitting and red velvet inlay. Condition:
A modern silver engraved commemorative Armada dish, hallmarked London 1977, together with a similar smaller example hallmarked London 1981 and a further commemorative bowl with coin set base, designed by Peter Lumby and hallmarked Cooper Brothers Sheffield 1977. Gross combined weight 8.4 ozt (262 grams). (3) Condition: Each of the three dishes displays general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The larger of the Armada dishes, diameter measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm) has a dent to the rim with two small nicks to the silver, the engraving is for the Queens Silver Jubilee 1977. The smaller Armada dish, diameter measuring 3 inches (7.5 cm), is engraved commemorating the Royal wedding in 1981. The commemorative bowl is set with a coin in celebration of the Queens silver jubilee 1977, numbered to the underside 793/1000. Overall the hallmarks are clear and legible.
Peruvian ashtray, stamped 925, of circular form and hammered finish, coin set base and dual rests. Together with a continental napkin ring, stamped silver and a continental letter opener. Gross weight 4.6 ozt (143 grams). Condition: All three items display general scratches, marks and tarnishing. Small dint to the underside of the ashtray. Further continental marks visible to the napkin ring and letter opener.
Early twentieth century silver coin purse, vertical engine turned decoration with circular vacant cartouche, attached chain and finger ring, the hinged case opening to reveal a tan leather compartmentalised interior. Hallmarked E J Trevitt & Sons Chester 1913. Maximum width measuring 67 mm. Condition: General wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age of the item. Some slightly deeper scratches and minor dents and some wear to the engine turned decoration. The clasp is working well but the purse does not shut completely tight. Hallmarks and maker`s marks are worn but still legible, part hallmark on other side is clear. The leather interior is torn and marked in places.
Edwardian silver vesta case of rectangular hinged form with floral scroll piercing and scalloped edge, hallmarked William Oliver Birmingham 1904, measuring 6 cm by 4 cm. Together with a small circular silver box the lid surmounted with a Victorian coin and opening to reveal a gilt interior, hallmarked Birmingham 1924, diameter measuring 53 mm. Gross combined weight 76 grams. (2). Condition: Vesta case has general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and usage. The hinged lid does not shut tightly so that there is a small gap when closed. There is some slight rubbing to the engraved decoration but it is still bright. Full hallmarks very clear, further date letter and standard mark to interior of lid, also clear.The circular box is in similar general condition. The coin on the lid is quite rubbed and worn so that it is not possible to read all the writing. Some dents to the base and also some marks to the gilded interior. Hallmarks rubbed but legible.
Victorian silver vesta case of rectangular form with canted corners and foliate engraving, vacant shield cartouche, hallmarked Birmingham 1899, together with an early twentieth century silver vesta case and a early twentieth century miniature coin purse with chain and finger ring, hallmarked Birmingham 1910, maximum width measuring 4.5 cm. (3). Condition: All three items have general wear, surface marks and scratches and a little tarnishing in keeping with their age and use.The Victorian vesta case has some wear to the engraved decoration but it is still bright. The lid has a very slight dent but the hinge is in good working order. The inner lip is quite worn. Hallmarks are clear but maker`s marks a little rubbed.The other vesta case is in similar condition. The hinge is in good working order. Hallmarks a little rubbed but still legible.The coin purse has several dents in the metal so it is a little misshapen. It is also a little tarnished in places. The clasp is in good working order. The green inner lining is a little ripped and dirty but otherwise good. Full set of hallmarks to one side are clear, further date letter and standard mark to other side, also very clear.
