A George III silver and stained whalebone toddy ladle, probably by Peter and Ann Bateman, London 1793, oval bowl, beaded border and bright cut decoration to stem; a Georgian silver toddy ladle, unhallmarked, the bowl inset with George III coin, engraved initials 'I+S/T +/1768', twisted whalebone handle; a Georgian silver toddy ladle, inset George II coin to bowl, scroll to handle, twisted whalebone terminal; and a Georgian embossed silver toddy ladle, inset George II gilt coin to base, twisted whalebone handle. A 1937 King George VI Specimen Gold Coin Set. Issued to commemorate the Coronation of King George VI, the set contains the Half Sovereign, Full Sovereign, Two Pound coin and the Five Pound coin all dated 1937 and presented in a fitted velvet lined case in red leather with gold coloured inscription.
2 cast iron old copy money banks. Probably dating from the 1950’s including a copy of a rare J & E Stevens Magician Bank. A novelty based on the vanishing rabbit trick. When one places a coin under the magician’s hat and presses the lever, the hat covers the coin and the coin disappears down a hard to see chute. Plus another J & A Stevens ‘Always Did Spise a Mule’ bank. With hinged seated boy and mule, when coin is placed under the boy the lever near the rear of the mule is pulled and activates the mule to swing clockwise and kick the boy, triggering the release of the coin into the bank. Includes fifty pounds, twenty-five pounds, twenty pounds, ten pounds and five pounds gold; also with this lot, Bahamas mint set to two dollars in Royal Mint case, and some fantasy Jersey German Occupation "tokens". Uncirculated to fleur de coin.
Florin, 1943. Ireland's rarest issued coin, the key date for the complete collection. Fine/very good. Extremely rare and desirable. 1943 was the final year that Irish .750 fine silver coinage was struck in England at the Royal Mint. The Central Bank sent the silver coins that were minted with 1943 date to be smelted. It is believed that only one £100 bag of 1,000 coins went into circulation, from which only 50 are recorded in collections.
