Royal Mint Proof 1989 Sovereign. 7.98g. Obverse and reverse by Bernard Sindall, with his obverse based on his 1977 medal struck for the silver jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The 1989 was a one year issue to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the first-ever hammered gold Sovereign of 1489 under the reign of Henry VII. It features Queen Elizabeth II seated on King Edwards Coronation throne and the stunning double Tudor Rose on the coin’s reverse – both in homage to that original coin from 1489. Mint state proof, no COA.

Falklands War, a trench art ashtray, converted from a 1977 shell case, inset with a 1980 10p Falklands Islands coin, diameter 12.7cm.Provenance; our vendor was a Saturation diver on the MSV Stena Seaspread, part of the Fleet Action Repair Team. This ashtray was made on board. He dived on the wreck of the HMS Coventry to retrieve classified materials before the ship was blown up.
