Bust of Augustus facing right, AVGVSTVS DIVI F. Rev: Apollo Citharoedus of Actium, standing left, holding plectrum and lyre, IMP X, ACT in exergue. (RIC 171a, Lyon 28, RSC 144). Augustus celebrates his victory over Mark Antony at Actium in 31 BC. Apollo Citharoedus of Actium, whom was worshipped at a temple overlooking the sea, is honoured on this coin, above the inscription ACT, for Actium. - 19mm, 4 grams - ca.100AD - Property of a Manchester collector; acquired in the 1980s. - All items come with Free International postage, accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity .
