A set of steel coin scales and assorted weights, late 18th century, the mahogany made up box with applied label printed for Thomas Beach, No 11 in Digbeth, Birmingham, the scales with brass pans and with assorted weights to include 36 shillings, George II one guinea and half guinea, Moidore and others.
A Russian enamel Khodynka cup, dated 1896, also known as The Cup of Sorrows. Height 10.5 cm. NOTE - This was made for the Coronation of Tsar Nicholas II & Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna in 1896, bearing the ciphers of Nicholas and Alexandra with Romanov eagle on the opposing side, these beakers were distributed at their Coronation and it is reported that over 1000 people were trampled to death in a stampede for the mugs which were erroneously rumoured to contain a gold coin. CONDITION REPORT: There are a few small chips to the enamel rim, the largest being approximately 1 cm. The main body colours are faded but still intact with no obvious cracks or chips. There is a small patch to the upper left of the monogram which is a series of small cracks but these are firing cracks made in production. There is a similar patch on the interior which are circumference lines but again produced in manufacture. There are no major obvious dents.
