A handmade mahogany coin collectors cabinet by Peter Nichols, 30 sliding drawers with vacant coin apertures and two further short and one long drawer, all behind two glazed doors, width 48.5 cm height 46.5 cm, depth 33 cm CONDITION REPORT: There are twelve trays with 49 apertures each measuring approximately 2.7 cm diameter. A further fifteen trays each with 56 coin apertures, each measuring approximately 2.1 cm in diameter. There is a single tray with 49 coin apertures measuring between 2.8 cm - 3.3 cm and 4 cm in diameter. We can confirm the drawers all work smoothly. There appears to be no losses. The rear right hand corner may need a little glue where the joint is opening on the applied moulding but this is nothing of significance. The left hand door has two interior locking bolts. There is a key to lock the cabinet. Overall the cabinet is in clean condition throughout. The cabinet retains the original Peter Nichols Cabinetmaker label to the reverse. Incidentally the vendor (now deceased) informed us that the cabinet cost him close to £1,000 when purchased new.
