A salvaged coin from the wreck of the 'Hollandia', Pillar 8 reales 1739, with certificate of origin no. 13212 and W. H. Lane & Son sale catalogue dated 21st Sept. 1973.* The Dutch East Indiaman 'Hollandia' was sunk off the Isles of Scilly on her maiden voyage from Amsterdam to Batavia in July 1743, with the loss of all hands. The wreck was discovered by divers in September 1971.
