A collection of coins, primarily British, including 7 proof sets 1970-1978, three uncirculated £2 coins 1986 in Royal Mint card packs, 3 cased silver proof crowns 1977, four £5 coins, ; Isle of Man coins including a cased £1 silver proof coin, a cased £1 virenium proof coin, two cased pairs of 1979 proof and uncirculated £1 virenium coins, a cased trio of £1 coins in silver proof, virenium proof and uncirculated qualities, a 1977 silver proof crown cased and 4 cased uncirculated 1979 fifty pence coins “Day of Tynwald”; four cased Jersey £2 coins 1989 being three in cupronickel and one silver; and a US peace silver dollar 1923, Hungary 5 pengo 1938 and a Maria Theresia restrike silver thaler. Also a wooden coin cabinet about 30 x 30 x 17 cm in mahogany or similar, lock without a key, 14 drawers, containing a quantity of British pre-decimal coins, many apparently metal detecting finds, including over 40 brass threepences, 40 sixpences, many pennies, halfpennies and farthings, some cupronickel and a few pre-1947 silver coins.. KENNER - Created by a Kenner coin sub-contractor, several different POTF coin dies were used to strike copper-anodized blanks in order to prove out the manufacturing process for the proposed 1985 Ewoks cartoon coins. 7th-10th century AD. A gold bracteate pendant in the form of a Islamic coin with pseudo-Kufic inscription to the edge and central panel, the remains of the loop to the reverse. 0.81 grams, 24mm (1"). Property of a West Yorkshire collector; acquired from an Ipswich, Suffolk, UK dealer; previously acquired in continental Europe. Fine condition, loop absent.

A hollow-formed bronze figure of Mercury (Greek Hermes) standing nude with coin-purse in his extended right hand, mantle to the left shoulder supporting the caduceus; waisted socle base. Cf. Rolland, H. Bronzes Antiques de Haute Provence, Paris, 1965, item 41. 224 grams, 17cm (6 3/4"). Property of a Dutch gentleman; formerly in an old Dutch collection formed in the 1970s. Fine condition, repaired.
