A 1964 Commer Cob 7cwt Series III van, registration number 978 TTA, chassis number B631888, engine number B631888, azure blue. The Commer Cob, a Rootes Group model was a panel van based on the Hillman Husky estate. The first version of the lightweight commercial appeared in the 1950s. The Cob saw a steady development over its production with improvements to the engine, seating and bodywork through Series I, II & III. This charming Series III Cob was originally supplied by Blue Star Garages Ltd, Axminster, Devon to its first owner a Mr W Newbury, a farmer from Colyton, Devon. The original order form is on file stating that Mr Newbury paid £452.8.2 plus an allowance of £20 for a part exchange. Mr Newbury retained the car for twenty years adding 20,000 miles to the odometer using the van to transport the odd calf to Axminster market. Mr Newbury?s daughter and son-in-law then owned the Cob for a short period before part exchanging it. The next custodian added a further 20,000 miles on the clock until our vendors father purchased the van in 2005 with 42,000 on the odometer. The Cob had been in storage for six or so years and required some recommissioning and repairs but was soon back on the road. Over the next 14 years the van was steadily improved but still retains an honest and genuine appearance which has been admired at local classic car events. Now displaying a believed 55,000 miles from new this refreshingly original Cob will be offered for auction with a history file containing an original owners instruction manual, a run of previous MOTs, tax discs, receipts and the original order form. A 1996 Volkswagen Corrado VR6, registration number P580 NEH, chassis number WVWZZZ250ZSK002267, engine number ABV015458, black. When the Corrado VR6 was launched in 1991 it was described by AutoExpress as VWs best ever drivers car and Car Magazine said it was one of the top 25 cars you must drive before you die. With 190bhp and bags of torque it would propel its passengers to 60mph in under 7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 145mph, impressive figures today let alone in the 1990s.This example, a manual version, finished in black with a matching black leather interior we have the pleasure of offering for auction is something a little different. It is the last British registered VR6, has only had one family ownership and covered a low genuine 42,500 miles from new. Originally supplied by Premier Garage Leek Ltd, Broad Street, Leek, Staffordshire, at £1,000 above list price. Having formed part of a private collection, the car has lived in an environmentally controlled environment when not in use. The car has been fastidiously maintained with service history and MOTs confirming the low 42,500 miles from new.In recent times the Corrado has been serviced by marque specialist John Mitchell Racing with a receipt on file ( £5,206.75 ) for a complete overhaul of the brakes and suspension and powder coating of the subframes (with photographs) in June 2016 at a recorded mileage of 41,414 miles, a service and new MillTek stainless steel exhaust (£1,024.99 April 2018). This example must be one of best if not the best available on today?s market and should be a must have for the VW connoisseur.V5C, MOT to May 2020See illustrationsAll lots in this sale are sold as is and bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. A 1968 Ford Mustang coupé 289 V8, registration number NSC 161F, chassis number 8R01C150713, engine number 8R01C150713, yellow. NSC 161F is a very original, low mileage, matching numbers, notchback V8 coupé, which was imported from California USA in 2018. It was originally supplied by Maywood-Bell Ford, 6201 Atlantic Building, Bell, CA, to Joyce Scranton, one of two sisters who retained the Mustang within the family until the car was exported. The Mustang was used until 2001 clocking up a low annual mileage where upon it went into storage. The Marti report that is contained in the history file informs us that the Mustang was originally fitted with some factory upgrades including power front disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning (not currently working) tinted glass, remote control left hand mirror, tilt away steering wheel, AM radio (still working) and an electric clock. The coupé was built at San Jose, finished in yellow with a black vinyl interior and automatic transmission, the colour combination it still sports today. The odometer reading of just over 54,000 miles is confirmed with a sworn statement from the previous owner confirming the mileage at 53,812 miles on 18th July 2017 and numerous receipts with recorded mileages. This very original and genuine Mustang will be offered for auction with an accompanying history file containing the Marti report, the original and rare owners manual, receipts, the previous owner statement and previous MOT and new seat covers.
