1972 Fiat 500 Lusso Transmission: manualMileage:35185Designed by Dante Giacosa, the Fiat 500 was produced between 1957 and 1975 with limited production of the Fiat 500K estate continuing until 1977. Measuring only three metres long and originally powered by a tiny 479cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term 'small car' and is considered one of the first city cars. Despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular car throughout Europe, capturing the hearts and minds of the public. The 'L' or Lusso was manufactured between 1968 and 1972 and featured a much more up to date interior including a renewed dashboard that gave the 500 a more modern feel. This very good 1972 Fiat 500 Lusso was imported from Italy in 2018. It has been subject to a complete restoration, this included repainting the car in pale blue, please note the bonnet requires some remedial work, and a fully customised and hand stitched light blue interior was fitted. The chromework was also replaced with new bumpers, headlight surrounds and new front badge. Finally, the car was fitted with some Cromodora style wheels and hub caps. The car has been subject to a major service and all the fluids, filters and electrical components were replaced. This pretty Fiat 500 is supplied with a V5C registration document. The Fiat 500L captures the essence of classic Italian motoring, combining compact size, charming design, and a spirited driving experience.

2015 Ford Mustang 5.0 litre Transmission: manualMileage:4265The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan in March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history, with the original Mustang selling over one million units in its first eighteen months alone. After five previous generations diluting the original 'Pony car', the sixth-generation arrived in 2013 to widespread consideration that Ford has perhaps returned the Mustang to its glory days. The sixth-generation Mustang was unveiled on December 5, 2013, in Dearborn, Michigan, New York, Los Angeles, California; Barcelona, Spain, Shanghai, China; and Sydney, Australia, with the internal project code name; S-550, with three engine options available: a newly developed 2.3 litre EcoBoost with 310bhp, a 3.7 litre 300bhp V6, or the 5.0 litre Coyote 435bhp V8 with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. A new independent rear suspension system was developed specifically for the new model. It also became the first factory version designed as a right hand drive export model to be sold overseas through Ford new car dealerships in right hand drive markets. After the much beloved TVR brand had finally been bought back by a group of business minded car enthusiasts keen to revive the once glorious TVR name, they set about designing a car that would not only start a new chapter in the brand's history, but also ensure its longevity to hopefully compete with all the other top supercar manufacturers going forward. With this in mind they hired non-other, than the great Formula 1 champion race car designer and designer of the legendary F1 race car, Gordon Murray. A design concept was agreed and a new car penned. As part of the development of the new car, TVR needed a test mule to develop their ECU settings along with a myriad of other electric necessities. The engine the new car was to run was the same as in the newly released Ford Mustang. With that a brand new V8 engined Mustang was ordered from Ford and imported to the UK for Murray to experiment with. Offered here is that car, a unique piece of British automotive history and one which is only being released from a sixty-car collection to free up space and money for an exciting new acquisition. Reported to run and drive very well and to be really quite rapid, there are interesting features still in place such as the emergency power cut red button in the cabin!Supplied with a V5C registration document along with import papers along with correspondence from Gordon Murray Automotive to the DVLA. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of history from the return of the UK's most outlandish car brand!Guide price £18,000 - £28,000Interested parties should note that as the TVR test mule, this Mustang has been uprated and is reported to be producing around 800bhp. These figures cannot be confirmed by us, but given the car’s history and how it drives, it seems quite likely.
1973 Citroën SM 3.0 Manual Transmission: manualMileage:99392In 1961, Citroën began work on 'Project S', a sports variant of the revolutionary Citroën DS. As was customary for the firm, many running concept vehicles were developed, increasingly complex and upmarket from the DS. Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968 with the intention of harnessing Maserati's high-performance V6 engine technology to produce a true Gran Turismo car combining the sophisticated Citroën suspension. The result was the Citroën SM, first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1970 and which went on sale in France in September of that year. Factory produced cars were all left hand drive, although right hand conversions were available in the UK and Australia. The origin of the model name 'SM' is not completely clear. The 'S' may derive from the Project 'S' designation and the 'M' perhaps refers to Maserati, hence SM is often assumed to stand for 'Systeme Maserati' or 'Sports Maserati'.Exported new in 1973 to the United States of America, this SM was believed to have been owned by a French diplomat. This would explain the incredibly rare specification of it being a 3.0 litre car, but with a manual transmission. Most 3.0 litre cars were supplied with the automatic gearbox rather than the manual and most of the total production were supplied with the smaller 2.7 litre motor, (thanks to the French 'puissance fiscale' taxation which made large displacement vehicles too expensive to sell in any quantity in France). The vendor acquired the car from Octane magazine Editor David Lillywhite, who had catalogued a long and often painful restoration of the car to its now beautiful state in the magazine. Included in the car's history file along with import documentation, is a full print out of all the articles mapping David Lillywhite's restoration journey. It appears he went through every element of the car and had the car resprayed to match the restoration, as well as replacing the American specification front light clusters to the prettier Perspex covered European units. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is now selling only as part of a downsizing of his considerable collection.Supplied with a V5C registration document along with import papers, original owner's manual and a record of the Octane magazine restoration articles. You would be hard pushed to find another manual 3.0 litre SM, let alone one which has had such love and car lavished upon it as well as having the restoration process followed by the leading classic car magazine.
2004 MG X-Power SV Transmission: manualMileage:5313MG's striking SV was designed by Peter Stevens, Royal College of Art Designer who had been responsible for McLaren's F1 and was based on the platform of the Qvale Mangusta. Prior to the demise of MG Rover, a team has been working on a project to return the company to the forefront of motorsport competition via sports and touring racing which included production of high-performance road cars. The X-Power SV was planned as the ultimate in the company's street legal offerings. Making its debut at the 2002 UK Motor Show the SV boasted a mouth-watering specification including a Ford 4.6 litre V8 power plant with five-speed gearbox and limited slip differential. The design's Italian-built steel box frame chassis (clothed in carbon fibre) was extremely rigid - as it needed to be in order to cope with some 320bhp on tap. The 0-60mph dash could be achieved in under 5.5 seconds whilst top speed was quoted at 165mph.Car number 144 was sold new in May 2004 to Gordon Sturdy who specified his SV as a manual gearbox car painted in Garnet Red Supertallic. Believed to be the only one painted in this shade of red, (most red cars being painted in Solar red), it was specified with 'Oyster' leather and Alcantara interior, automatic climate control, CD Tuner, Infinity speakers, large rear spoiler and track day free flowing exhaust. The supplied original bill of sale shows Mr. Sturdy paid £46,000 for the car and then an additional £870 to have the SV seat upgrade. The car's history file shows receipts for maintenance work carried out by Maidstone Sports Cars, as well as the original owner's handbook, parts list CD, MG X-Power SV book by David Knowles and promotional DVD and book. Whilst officially the second owner, Mr. Stury was for all intents and purpose the first, as the car was first registered to MG Sport and Racing Ltd as a demonstrator. It must have had light use though, as even now the car has only covered 5,313 miles. Purchased by our vendor in 2021, the car formed part of a large eclectic collection of cars and has had only light use. Reported by him to run and drive incredibly well, the car is now only for sale to free up some money and space for an incoming project.Supplied with a V5C registration document, original purchase invoice, book pack, maintenance and service handbooks, many MoT test certificates and invoices. This rare and unique car, believed to be the only in this colour is bound to wow at any car meeting or show, with performance to match its wild styling.Interested parties should note that contrary to the catalogue description, this MG SV X-Power is not the only car painted in Garnet Red, but in fact one of only two cars painted by the factory in the colour.
1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Transmission: manualMileage:57955The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is a two-door grand touring convertible with a removable hardtop that was produced between May 1955 and February 1963 with a prototype first shown at the 1954 New York Motor Show. It was sold alongside the faster, more expensive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL which it closely resembled both in its styling, engineering, detailing and fully independent suspension. However, the 190 SL did not use the 300 SL's purpose-built tubular spaceframe W198 platform but was built on a shortened monocoque R121 unit. The 190 SL was powered by a new 1.9 litre straight-four SOHC engine that developed 104bhp and was later also used in the W120, 180 and W121, 190 models. The four-cylinder engine block of the 190 SL was based on the six-cylinder engine of the 300 SL. The car was available either as a soft top convertible or with removable hardtop. This delightfully handsome Mercedes has had recent expenditure with Classic Sport Leicht, very well-respected marque specialists in Paris. Presenting supremely well in Gunmetal grey with contrasting red interior, we are informed this 190 SL drives with no known faults. This left hand drive example has been the subject of an extensive restoration and as such, is ready to be enjoyed immediately. The coachwork is in good order as is the chromework (of which there is plenty) and the interior is virtually unmarked. The 190 SL is best suited for touring, as it featured copious amounts of luggage space, despite having a convertible top. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a history folder, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a very good looking and well sorted 190 SL.
1973 Triumph TR6 Transmission: manualMileage:38477The TR6 was introduced in 1968 and was the bestseller of the TR range when production ended in July 1976. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5. The design house, Karmann Consultants, squared off the front and back ends to give the TR6 its sharpened look. Fitted with a 2.5 litre, in-line, six-cylinder engine, the TR6 could reach 60mph in just over 8.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 120mph. It featured a four-speed manual transmission with an optional overdrive unit and semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, 15 wheels and tyres, bucket seats and a full complement of instrumentation.First registered on 14th March 1973, this original right hand drive, UK supplied example is presented in Pimento Red over a black interior and is fitted with Minilite style wheels. Acquired by the current vendor in January 2007, this TR6 was used occasionally before being treated to renovation work in 2012. The work included the removal of the engine and gearbox and fitting a new clutch and ring gear. A Triumph 2,500cc engine was sourced and fitted which benefits from carburettors as opposed to the original fuel injection system. A new and extensively improved wiring harness, new fuses and relays, and a transistorised ignition was also fitted with an accurate wiring diagram which is included in the history file. More recently, this TR has been fitted with an electric fan and Mazda MX5 seats which make for a much more user-friendly experience. The vendor reports that the TR runs and drives very well indeed using it regularly in the summer months. This Triumph comes with a sizeable history file which includes various sundry invoices, bills for maintenance work, old MoT test records and the V5C registration document. This example offers huge amounts of car for the money and can be enjoyed immediately.
1972 Volkswagen Fibrecraft Storm Beach Buggy Transmission: manualMileage:67549Starting with the Meyers Manx, the dune buggy craze took off in America in the early Sixties. Used Volkswagen Beetles were abundant in California and the surf culture was at its peak in the Sixties. The dune buggy epitomised the California lifestyle, and as the concept was so simple and so inviting, it spread quickly. This correctly registered 1972 Fibrecraft Storm, long wheelbase, four-seater is finished in a custom blue metal-flake paintwork with bespoke black interior. The drivers and passenger seats are on runners to make plenty of space for rear seat passengers. Sitting on chrome wheels with huge deep-dish rears on 295/50/15 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tyres. Believed to be one of just four known examples ever built and road registered, this beach buggy is correctly registered as a 'convertible' with the DVLA and carries historic vehicle taxation. Restored over a ten-year period from 2008 to 2018 and finished to a superb standard, this buggy is now only ever used on dry days and has covered less than 1,000 miles since completion but still retaining its original period speedometer. Some of the work undertaken included new floor pans, new front beam axle, all new brakes including front disc brakes, engine rebuild with capacity increased to 1679cc using new cylinder barrels, remote high flow oil filtration system and twin Scat carburettors. Presented with a superb history file including many invoices for all work carried out and photographs. We are informed the car starts on the button and has an MoT until May 2024, has excellent acceleration with a good cruising speed and sounds just as good as it looks.Guide Price £15,000 - £20,000
1926 Essex Super Six Transmission: manualMileage:96076In 1919, Hudson introduced the Essex brand, designed to compete with Ford and Chevrolet as opposed to the more up-scale Hudson line. The Essex found great success by offering one of the first affordable saloons and combined Hudson and Essex sales moved from seventh in the US to an amazing third by 1925. At their peak in 1929, Hudson and Essex produced a combined 300,000 cars in one year including contributions from Hudson's other factories in Belgium and England; indeed, a factory had been built in 1925 in Brentford, London. Essex pioneered low-cost closed coachwork in the US, its four-seater saloon being only slightly more expensive than the tourer in 1922 and marginally cheaper by 1925. Essex's big news for 1924 was the switch from four to six-cylinder engines. The new side valve power unit started unusually small for the US at 2.1 litres before being enlarged to 2.4 litres. Renamed 'Super Six' in 1926 the Essex gained a larger engine and four-wheel Bendix mechanical brakes the year after. Stylistically, the Essex looked broadly similar to its Hudson parent, albeit on a smaller scale. This lovely 1926 Essex Super Six was built at the UK factory in Brentford just outside London and then shipped to New Zealand, where it remained and was restored to a very high standard, fitted with artillery wheels it had indicators fitted to comply with New Zealand laws. It returned and registered to the UK in 2013. In recent years it has been fully maintained and an electric fuel pump fitted to help easy starting. Finished in cream with dark blue interior and retaining the original dark blue headlining, this very good Essex Super Six is supplied with a V5 registration document and is an ideal, reliable car for using in historic rallies such as the Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Run.
1969 MG B Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:32081The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA and was introduced as a four-cylinder roadster with a coupé added in 1965. It was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Manual windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds; this was aided by the relatively light weight of the car. Handling was one of the MGB's strong points. The three-bearing 1798cc, B-Series engine produced 95bhp at 5,400rpm with the engine upgraded in October 1964 to a five-bearing crankshaft to improve reliability. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger at a 30mph impact. This 1969 MGB Roadster on wire wheels with overdrive was purchased by the current owner in 2001. While in her ownership the car has had very little use, from the MoT test certificate history it has only covered 2,500 miles since 2008 and only 500 miles since 2011. Even with the apparent low mileage, the car has been kept very well maintained and was restored in the original colour and the engine replaced in the 1980's. A new hood was fitted in 2000 and after being laid up for several reasons and then the pandemic, the car has been recently being recommissioned which included replacing the radiator and fitting new batteries. Finished in its original dark green with a black interior piped in white, this MG is supplied with a V5C registration document and a large file containing old registration documents, old MoT test certificates, a number of invoices going back to the 1990's and photographs taken when the restoration was carried out and the new engine fitted. This is an ideal car for someone entering the classic car market especially as it requires a little work to return it to its former glory.
1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Transmission: manualMileage:68444The Alfa Romeo Giulia (105) Sprint GT was designed by Bertone's Giorgetto Giugiaro. The car was launched in September 1963 at the newly opened Arese plant and displayed later that month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The overall styling of the Giulia was kept very simple however, the Giulia had a very distinctive Scalino 'step front' design with the bonnet sitting approximately 1/4 inch above the nose of the car. Alfa Romeo was one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful engine in a lightweight car for mainstream production, making it a forerunner to today's performance saloons. The Giulia was powered by Alfa Romeo's twin cam, all-aluminium, four cylinder 1,570cc engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. This punchy power plant ensured the car's performance was better than many sports cars of the era. Alfa Romeo took 'Touring Car' racing by storm winning the European Touring Car Championship in 1966, 1967 and 1968.This right hand drive, 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT was supplied new in the UK. At some time it was exported to Australia. The current owner purchased the car there and returned it to the UK in June 2016. After using it sparingly for a while it was put into storage where it has remained until recently. We are informed that the car is matching numbers, has a sound floor pan and is running and drivable. This is a restoration project with a lot of potential for being put back on the road or rebuilt for racing and use on the track. Finished in blue with tan and stripped material interior it is supplied with a V5C registration document and a number of spare parts including an original grille, a new bumper still in its protective wrapping and other parts. These wonderful classic Alfa Romeos are highly sought-after and a restoration project such as this is so rare to find, particularly as the car appears to be complete.
2002 Alfa Romeo 156 3.2 V6 24V GTA Transmission: manualMileage:15000Launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2001, the Alfa Romeo 156 GTA is certainly the spiritual successor to the original GTA sold throughout the 1960s. In fact, this sports saloon is a gorgeous model designed by Centro Stile in collaboration with Stola and was hand assembled on its own production line.Today, most examples on the road surely have plenty of miles on the clock, used as family sportscars, alternatives to the BMW sports saloons of the time. This example however, first registered in 2002, had spent much of its life dry stored in a Ferrari collector's garage before being acquired by the current vendor and residing in his private collection. It has covered circa 15,000 miles from new and has been thoroughly well cared for over the years. Presented in astonishing condition, it also runs very well, and everything onboard reportedly works as it should.First registered in November 2002 and bought by the previous owner in 2004 with 8,000 miles on the clock, this Alfa was acquired by our vendor in 2022. Kept in dry storage since 2004 it has covered around 500 miles per year. Evidently in excellent condition inside there is seemingly little to no wear throughout the cabin which benefits from the full Sport Pack option fitted from the factory. Black leather upholstery adorns the seats and door cards, which are in excellent shape. We are also informed that all electronic features aboard work as they should, from the electric windows to the mirrors and the Bose Hi-Fi system. In excellent condition throughout, this Alfa is presented in its suitably Italian metallic red coachwork complemented by the Quadrifoglio and Biscione sitting proudly on the front wings and the engine bay, home to the largest of the Busso engines, is in immaculate order. Also present is the spare tyre, complete with a set of tools and a history file which includes the service booklet which has frequent stamps, the original owner's handbook, and the current V5C registration document. Despite not covering many miles and spending the majority of its life in dry storage, this example has received frequent services and MoT test certificates. Most recently, with 14,500 miles on the clock, the cambelts, water pump and radiator were all replaced. The car also has relatively new brake discs and pads. In near-immaculate condition, this Alfa Romeo 156 GTA is almost a new car. It has been dry stored since 2004 and has covered very few miles in that time. With a Busso engine ready to roar and a short-throw six-speed manual transmission, it is surely set to make its new owner very happy.
1971 Aston Martin DBS V8 Banham Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:79500With the demise of the DB6 Mk. II Volante in 1970, Aston Martin were not able to offer a convertible motorcar until 1977 with the introduction of the V8 Volante. This presented a niche in the market; there are always wealthy customers with a desire for something unique and unusual. Paul Banham and his company, Banham Conversions (Banmoco) became well known for their cabriolet conversions on Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Daimler and Jaguar cars. The company was perhaps most noted for their stylish conversion on the Jaguar XJ-S. Sadly the company went out of business in 2004.This lovely example is presented in British Racing Green with a beige leather interior and matching beige hood. Its iconic V8 engine is mated to a manual gearbox and it has electric windows and a radio. The car has a nice history going as far back as 1984, which also includes a list of the owners and the years it exchanged hands. The present owner bought this rare DBS V8 Aston Martin in 1989 and it was at that time the car was sent to Banham Motors Ltd to be converted to a soft top when the mileage was 74,978. The car was stored from 1991 to 2022 in an air conditioned unit and was recommissioned by Slark Motors in Bristol in 2023. It had its outer wheel lips power coated and the car was polished to the condition it is shown today which looks fabulous. These are rare cars indeed and with the Banham conversion and manual gearbox, this particular Aston Martin DBS is very sought-after and turns heads wherever it is driven.
1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Transmission: manualMileage:48883The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is a classic car that holds a special place in automotive history. Produced from 1955 to 1974, it was a collaboration between the German automaker Volkswagen and the renowned Italian design firm, Carrozzeria Ghia. The Karmann Ghia combined the reliable and efficient mechanical components of the Volkswagen Beetle with a sleek, stylish body designed by Luigi Segre at Ghia. The Karmann Ghia's timeless design is characterised by its low, sweeping roofline, elegant curves, and clean lines. Its compact size and lightweight construction made it nimble on the road and a pleasure to drive. The car's rear-mounted air-cooled engine provided adequate power for its time. More than 445,000 Karmann Ghia's were produced in Germany over the car's production life, not including the Type 34 variant. Volkswagen Brazil produced a further 41,600 Type 34s for the South American market between 1962 and 1975.This lovely 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was purchased by the current owner in 1997 and was added to his collection of classic cars. During his ownership, the car hasn't been driven very far and it is believed that the mileage is correct at 49,000 miles. In 2000, he had the bodywork repaired and then repainted in the original colour scheme of orange with a black roof. The black interior is completely original and unmarked, the only fault is a small crack in the top of dashboard. Described by the owner as mechanically sound, and at the time of viewing the car for entry into this auction it started first time and ran beautifully after being stood for five weeks. This Karmann Ghia is supplied with a V5C registration document and a file that contains old invoices and a couple of old MoT test certificate predating the purchase in 1997 which also show the low mileage. The Karmann Ghia became a popular choice among car enthusiasts who sought a stylish and sporty vehicle without breaking the bank. It gained a reputation for its charm, reliability, and accessible maintenance.
1991 Alfa Romeo Spider S4 Transmission: automaticMileage:99018The Spider designation for the open top sports cars originates from the word, speeder, and a two-person open horse carriage. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993, remaining in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. Widely regarded as a design classic, this fourth series version of production came with further mechanical and cosmetic changes. Mechanical changes saw the introduction of the Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection with an electric fan and cosmetically, losing its front under bumper spoiler and the rear boot spoiler picking up 164-style rear lights stretching across the width of the car together with colour co-ordinated plastic bumpers. This very good left hand drive, 1991 Series 4, Alfa Romeo Spider was imported from Japan in 2016 and purchased by the current owner a couple of months later. While in his ownership he acquired a factory hardtop, replaced the automatic gearbox with a reconditioned Alfa Romeo manual gearbox, fitted a set of Zandar alloy wheels and in 2018 he had the car repainted. The car has just been serviced and MoT'd. Finished in black with the original beige interior, this Alfa Romeo Spider is supplied with V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2024 and a file containing invoices since being imported in 2016. Also supplied with the car is a number of spare parts including an original, replacement, one piece carpet. This is an ideal car for continental touring which the current owner has done on a number of occasions.
2003 Renault Avantime 3.0 Privilege Transmission: manualMileage:96300The motoring press were truly wowed by Renault's advanced MPV Coupé Concept when unveiled at Paris Salon in 1998. Remarkably true to the original design, the 'Avantime', built by Matra, was a genuine mould-breaker that offered a luxurious glass cabin with 'Theatre' seating, pillarless side windows and a full panoramic sliding glass roof. The view of the road was commanding and the performance sufficient to ensure that A and B Roads were navigated swiftly with great poise and grace. This top-of-the-range V6 Privilege is particularly unusual in that it features an original six-speed manual transmission. Paintwork is a bright metallic 'Illiad' blue with silver roof-rails and optioned with the opulent 'Bridge of Weir' leather upholstery. This 'limited edition' car number 336 also boasts factory satellite navigation and the all-important metal plaque in its original presentation box along with certificate, Renault letter and deluxe design book. The previous keeper had owned the Avantime for almost half of the cars life with Renault main dealer servicing all the way up until 2017, presenting superbly. The current vendor acquired the car from us in 2021 and has insured it has been maintained as it should. Residing in the current owner's private collection, this Avantime is offered with both original keys, along with a comprehensive history and the personalised registration number. Historics are very pleased to offer such a well specified, example and, as with these most eclectic of motorcars, they are gaining popularity and represent an elegant and astute addition to any motoring aficionado's stable.
1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Transmission: automaticMileage:41464The Mercedes-Benz SL range of models have been in production for over sixty years metamorphosing from the Le Mans winning W194 of 1952 to the technologically advanced, aluminium bodied supercars we find today at Mercedes-Benz World. One thing however, has not changed over the years “ its fundamental character and identity as an upmarket well-built sports car. You could say the fabulous SL AMG model of today with its gullwing doors is the spiritual successor of the 1956 W121 class Gullwing. Backed by its racing pedigree the SL's glamorous reputation was further enhanced by its appearance on TV when it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980's without the SL making an appearance! These third-generation SL's, the R107, looked 'the part' in all their guises “ the soft top up or down or with the Pagoda hardtop in place. The simple to use, almost genius soft top mechanism when folded down out of sight under a panel gives the car its beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. With the hardtop in place you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a fixed head coupé. No less than eight different engine options were available ranging from the straight-six 2.8 litre to a mighty 5.6 litre V8. Although a manual gearbox was available, it is very rare and most examples are fitted with an automatic gearbox which best suits the car's designation as a grand tourer.Originally registered on 6th June 1985 this R107 Mercedes is fitted with the smooth and responsive 3.8 litre V8 Engine. It is a superb example that presents in excellent condition all round. The Pagent Red coachwork is in excellent order as is the cream leather trim. Stylish Mexican hat alloy wheels complement this delightful colour combination. Supplied with the original service books, this has clearly been a very well cared for Mercedes-Benz. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 11th April 2024, together with the original toolkit and a factory hardtop. We are advised this R107 drives as good as it looks, it is rare to see them this good.
1954 Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:58682The Jaguar XK120 was manufactured between 1948 and 1954; Jaguar's first sports car since the SS100, which ceased production in 1940. The XK120 was launched in roadster form at the 1948 London Motor Show as a show car for the new Jaguar XK engine. It caused a sensation thus persuading Jaguar founder and design boss William Lyons to put the car into production. The '120' in its name referred to its 120mph top speed which made the XK120 the world's fastest standard production car at the time of its launch. It was available in two open versions; first as the roadster then also as a drophead coupé from 1953 and also as a closed, or 'fixedhead' coupé from 1951. With an alloy cylinder head and twin side-draft SU carburettors, the double overhead-cam 3.4 litre straight-six XK engine was comparatively advanced for mass-produced units of its time. This same basic design of the XK engine, later modified into 3.8 litre and 4.2 litre versions, survived late into the 1980s.This left hand drive Jaguar was originally sent to California from new and repatriated to the UK in 1964. Upon its return, this XK120 SE was put into storage for many years. A renovation was carried out paying great attention to keeping the car as original as possible. It was repainted in the original colour scheme and although the seats have been changed to more comfortable bucket type seats, the originals are included with the car, although they will need restoring. The engine was rebuilt at 55,548 miles and as this is an SE specification vehicle it has a C-Type cylinder head offering a better performance. A new Mohair hood comes with the car, along with newly refurbished sidescreens. The fastidious and knowledgeable vendor has owned this matching numbers XK120 since January 2014 and has enjoyed the car immensely. It has been thoroughly maintained, largely by himself and again the focus was always using original parts wherever possible, subject to availability. Presenting in good order throughout, this is a very nice genuine and useable example. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, a detailed history of the renovation and a good history folder. This 67 year old Jaguar has only had three previous keepers and is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new owner as much as it has been by its current owners.
1973 Porsche 911 Targa Transmission: manualMileage:The original Porsche 911 was introduced in autumn 1963 and manufactured until 1989. It was succeeded by a modified version, internally referred to as Porsche 964, but still sold as Porsche 911, as are current models. Mechanically, the 911 was notable for being rear engine and air-cooled and, from its inception, the 911 was modified both by private teams and the factory itself for racing, rallying and other types of competition. The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included; namely the powerful 911 derived 935 which won the 24 Hours Le Mans and other major sports car races outright against prototypes. Of all the derivatives and years in which the 911 was produced the 1973 Targa was perhaps one of the most sought-after, the '73 had the narrower bumpers which are especially popular and deemed more attractive on the early 911 with a style that modern 'restomod' or backdated styles such as Singer replicate allowing top down motoring with the glass back window which the model of course didn't start out with.First registered in August 1973, this 2.4 litre F-Series 911 Targa was delivered to the UK from new and has been comprehensively restored and transformed by Rindt Vehicle Design. In single ownership between 1985 and 2020, as detailed in the history file. Finished in Irish Green, full details of the bodywork and mechanical attention carried out include complete strip, prep and bare-metal repaint in Irish Green, carried out to the highest standards, new nearside floor pan and nearside 'kidney bowl', full interior strip and re-finish in Tartan, new dash trim, new inner and outer sill protectors, fresh chrome bumper mouldings, new front and rear windscreen rubbers, sun visors, new horns and fitment of new Targa roof seals. The engine was removed from the vehicle, stripped, serviced and fitted with new upper and lower cam covers, new oil pipes where required and repairs to the wiring loom undertaken. This is now a beautifully restored example of a period air-cooled Porsche that attracts attention wherever it goes, viewing is highly recommended.
1968 Sunbeam Alpine Series V Transmission: manualMileage:72500The Sunbeam Alpine was launched in 1953 as the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone, since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. Ken Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign of the Alpine in 1956 with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. The Series V Alpine was produced from 1965 through to 1968, the final version having a new five-bearing, 1725cc engine with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburettors producing 93bhp.This iconic British sports car is presented in red with a grey hood and a black interior. It is powered by the lively 1725 four cylinder engine mated to a four-speed gearbox. The present owner, who has owned it since 2001, has just returned from a 600-mile round trip holiday in the UK and they confirmed that the car drove without a fault. It comes with, a workshop manual, Rootes parts list and a good history file with many invoices including old MoT test certificates dating back to 1977 (and it has new MoT test certificate which expires in June 2024 with no advisories), which does verify the present mileage of 72,500 as being correct.
1965 Jaguar Mk. II (3.4 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:1904Synonymous with the swinging 60s and the hit TV Series Inspector Morse, the Mk. II was undoubtedly the most admired Saloon to emanate from Jaguar's hallowed Browns Lane factory. Featuring notably slimmer roof pillars than its Mk. I predecessor, the immortal Mk. II was as airy on the inside as it was elegant on the outside. The interior was quintessentially British with its sumptuous leather-covered seats, polished wood facia and door cappings, extensive instrumentation and impressive row of auxiliary toggle switches. These cars punched well above their weight. Equipped with either a 3.4 or 3.8 litre engine, the Jaguar was capable of sprinting to 60mph in as little as 8.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 125mph, small wonder that it was the first choice of both bank robbers and the police of the period! This iconic Jaguar model has been in its enthusiast owner's possession since February 1980. Presenting well in grey paintwork with a grey leather interior, this Jaguar Mk. II was originally registered in May 1965 and has been well cared for. The vendor informs us that he has recently rebuilt the engine, fitting new pistons, timing chain and clutch. He also tells us that this Jaguar is fitted with power steering, upgraded front brake calipers, upgraded servo, an electric fan and is a joy to drive. The front seats have been retrimmed and the back seats would benefit from some attention. Presented to auction with a file containing various bills and receipts, previous MoT test certificates and a V5C registration document, this MoT exempt Jaguar is offered without reserve.
1963 Fiat 500D Transformable Transmission: manualMileage:34000The Fiat 500 was a city car produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat between 1957 and 1975. Launched as the Nuova 500 in July 1957, it was a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only nine feet nine inches long, and originally powered by an appropriately sized 479cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term 'small car', and is considered one of the first city cars. Fiat produced their famous 'suicide door' 500D from 1960-1965. This was also available with the trasformabile (transformable) roof and was only available in left hand drive format. This combination of fully convertible roof and suicide doors is very rare now and has become the most collectable version of the 500.This example is described by the vendor as a truly beautiful classic 1963 Fiat 500D Transformable with suicide doors and only 34,000 miles. This beautiful little icon has only had three owners from new, registered to its first keeper on 5th March 1963, then to its second on 16th November 2001 before our vendor, an Italian, purchased the car in 2017. Having been restored in Italy some 11 years ago with the same passion it was created with, it has clearly stood the test of time and is an exceptional example. The bodywork is straight, and mechanically, we are informed it starts first time. The car is UK registered with a V5C registration document. This is the most collectable and sought-after model, and the patina of the whole car is just stunning and in-line with the vehicle's provenance.
1996 BMW 840Ci Transmission: automaticMileage:104165The Klaus Kapitza-designed 8-Series (chassis code E31) was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989. Though it effectively replaced the 6-Series, it was originally intended as an additional model line - an upmarket range with superior performance and price tag to match. During its ten year reign, the 8-Series was offered in 830i, 840Ci and 850i/Ci form, of which the 840Ci was the second most popular variant. When introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a four litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. With 282bhp on tap, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds. The fully independent suspension featured struts at the front and an innovative multi-link system with coil springs on the rear. Steering was by ball and nut and braking by discs all round - vented at the front; solid at the rear. Over 1.5 billion Deutsche Marks are said to have been spent on the car's design and development. Though electronically limited to 155mph, the most powerful 8-Series models had a potential top speed of almost 190mph.Originally registered on 11th January 1996, this striking right hand drive BMW 840Ci is equipped with the optional five-speed automatic transmission. The metallic green coachwork is in excellent order, as is the light grey leather interior. A good service history accompanies N245 XGM, with the original service book showing 15 stamps and a comprehensive collection of invoices. Recent work carried out in March this year includes a full service, new front road springs, new fuel lines, new viscous coupling, new stainless steel exhaust system and a new headlining. The cost of this work was £4,737.55 and was carried out by a respected classic car specialist. Whilst the odometer currently reads 147,782 miles, the correct mileage is actually 104,165 miles. A replacement instrument cluster was fitted in September 2009 and the owner could only locate a second-hand unit showing 43,617 miles more than the original unit, this is documented in the history file. Supplied with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 26th September 2023, we are advised by the vendor that 'she drives as good as she looks'. The 8-Series BMW is a magnificent design with superb ergonomics. A well cared for example such as this is surely one for the future.
2010 Land Rover 110 Transmission: manualMileage:62700The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin. In August 2011, Land Rover announced an update of the Defender for the 2012 model year. By this time, Land Rover publicly acknowledged that it was working on a project to produce an all-new replacement for the Defender. This stunning 2.4 litre TDCi Land Rover Defender 110 with the desirable seven seat configuration is finished in Stornoway Grey with a black trim. First registered on 31st March 2010 and with just three former keepers the last two having been in the vendors family since 2012 passing from sibling to sibling. This example also boasts an uprated Alpine stereo and speaker system and alarm immobiliser. Recently fitted with new brakes discs and pads, new side-steps, full LED light conversion and new like for like Continental tyres. Supplied with the original owner's book pack and service book including a comprehensive service history with numerous original invoices, MoT test certificates and original toolkit. With two original keys, this is a fabulous example of the iconic, practical and robust collectors Defender.
2005 MG ZT Estate Transmission: manualMileage:63444In 2001, three years after the launch of the Rover 75, and less than a year after the demerger of MG Rover from BMW, the MG ZT and MG ZT-T were launched. During the cars' development, the models were codenamed X10 and X11, for the saloon and estate versions, respectively. The basic shape and styling of the MG ZT remained the same as for the Rover 75 but with changes to the front bumper, now with an integrated grille, and detail alterations including colour coding of the chromed waistline, a new boot lid plinth, and different alloy wheels and tyres sizes. During the first few months of 2004, MG Rover facelifted the design of the ZT and ZT-T to a less retro look, at the same time as the Rover 75 received a facelift. This didn't feature much in the way of mechanical differences to the ZT, most changes were merely aesthetic. The main changes to the car included the replacement of the twin headlamps, with a new, clear single headlamp unit. Between 2003 and 2006 the top of the ZT range, and the rarest, was rear wheel drive and powered by the Ford 4601cc V8 engine giving 300bhp, 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.This rare MG ZT is best described as a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'. A relatively unassuming vehicle from the outside, with the only visible feature being the large bore exhausts. However, start the engine and suddenly you become aware of the Ford Mustang 4.6 litre V8 under the bonnet. This is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox making this a true drivers car and one to really enjoy on the open road. Performance is put at 260bhp and 407NM of torque. The interior is trimmed in black leatherette and cloth seats with electric windows, electric mirrors and digital climate control with air conditioning. Showing just 63,444 miles on the odometer, the previous owner fitted a bespoke (and very expensive) stainless steel exhaust system with sports cats and central silencer box, coupled to an OE back-box, helping unleash a little more sound of the American dream. We are advised there is a bearing noise from the rear axle. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until October 2023, together with the original book pack and a collection of invoices. This stylish MG estate is both a capable load carrier and a truly exciting car to drive. These were built in relatively small numbers, it is thought less than 200 were manufactured, thus this could well prove to be a fine investment.Guide £6,000-£9,000
1995 Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R V-Spec Transmission: manualMileage:62961The new R33 Skyline GT-R was launched in January 1995 with a base GT-R and the V-Spec model, which offered a sportier suspension set-up resulting in lower ground clearance and featured the newer ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel drive system, which included an Active Limited-Slip Differential which, at the time, made it arguably the most technologically advanced production car in the world. The system was conceived in the 1990s for the JTCC to enable some 600bhp to be fed through the wheels and on to the racetrack efficiently. The V-Spec also featured an active LSD on the rear axle which further aided traction by calculating the optimum torque-split between the left and right rear wheels, variable from fully locked to totally free. The increased body rigidity and improved handling potential over the previous generation R32 necessitated several specially designed cross members being incorporated into the monocoque and extra torsion bars were added to the multi-link suspension to further enhance stability. Working closely with Bridgestone technicians to perfect the Potenza tyres, Nissan put the prototype R33 GT-R through its paces in all weathers at the notorious Nürburgring, earning them a daring reputation amongst other manufacturers. Power came from the now legendary RB26DETT, Nissan's 2.6 litre twin-turbocharged straight-six masterpiece. This R33 GT-R V-Spec is rather special. Our vendor knew this car for a number of years before buying it, it belonged to a family friend and had always been his dream car, so when the opportunity came to buy it, he jumped at it. The car is presented in possibly the best, and most famous, colour for a Skyline, Midnight Purple, which presents in absolutely outstanding condition following a full bare metal respray. In recent years this car has been through a restoration costing in excess of £45,000 and covering very little mileage since, the condition throughout speaks for itself. Frankly, no stone was left unturned, the underside was all re-powercoated, new polybushes fitted throughout, AP Racing brakes all round with six-pot calipers upfront and four-pot calipers at the rear, and an engine set up to die for. The car now produces 500bhp on low-boost and up to 610bhp on high boost, which the seller informs us was his target for a very safe and reliable power output, these engines can be pushed much further but at this level the parts aren't stressed to their limits. The engine was fully stripped down and rebuilt, with the following specification, HKS super sqv4 dump valve, aluminium radiator, aluminium intercooler, Bosch 1000 cc injectors, Garrett GT2860-5 turbo's, HKS power flow exhaust system and Haltech elite 2000 ECU. Our vendor reports the car drives absolutely superbly, being very compliant in normal driving conditions. The Nissan Skyline GT-R is possibly one of the most legendary and desirable JDM cars of the 1990's and this example has been restored and rebuild by a true enthusiast with the addition of tasteful and well proven upgrades. Offered with a very attractive estimate, this could be the exact GT-R you have been waiting for.
1946 Jaguar Mk. IV Transmission: manualMileage:39759The 1945-1948 Jaguar Mk. IV was Jaguar's first car after World War II and was essentially continuations of the 1938-39 models. Very few of these cars were built for the right hand drive markets as steel was being rationed for goods for export. The origin of the name is rather odd since, back in 1948, there had been no Mk. I to IV Jaguars; the Mk. IV designation was only given to the predecessor after the launch of the Mk. V to make identification easier. Most were four-door saloons and all shared the same bodyshell except for the 1.5 litre model which had a six inch shorter wheelbase and had a four instead of six-cylinder engine. This was the first car to bear the legendary Jaguar name after 1945 (SS having been dropped for understandable marketing reasons after the war) and the Mk. IV Jaguar is felt by many to be the epitome of British car design of its era. The huge chrome headlamps, sweeping wings and running boards, luxurious leather interior, French polished wood all speak of style and opulence. This example, when purchased by the vendor was used on a regular basis. However, the car was taken off the road around 15 years ago and dry stored. We are advised the 3½ litre engine runs and the car drives although some recommissioning will be required. The bodywork is in relatively good order and the interior appears original with a delightful patina. The toolkit in the rear boot lid is intact, although there are some items missing, not surprising as the car is 77 years old. Supplied with a V5C registration document, this rare and interesting Jaguar Mk. IV represents an opportunity for an enthusiast to improve the car and enjoy the pleasure of owning a 1940s classic.
1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster (4.2 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:21265Famously launched at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type created a furore. Its combination of supercar performance, superb styling and a low-price tag left rivals reeling and customers clamouring. Built as a monocoque with a front sub-frame to cradle the engine, the model's combination of all-round independent suspension (torsion-bar front/coil-sprung rear) rack and pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes gave it excellent road holding and handling capabilities. Fed by triple SU HD8 carburettors and topped with a 'straight port' DOHC cylinder head, its indomitable 3781cc straight-six engine was quoted as developing some 265bhp and 260lbft of torque. Allied to a four-speed Moss gearbox, it reputedly enabled the low-slung two-seater to sprint from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and onto 150mph. While any E-Type roadster is desirable, the lithesome free-revving 3.8 litre cars enjoy a particularly exalted status; however, the later Series I, 4.2 litre was a better engine. Coming from a large private collection and long-term ownership, the Jaguar E-Type on offer here is a genuine UK supplied, matching numbers, manual gearbox car. Unusual in the vendor's collection, he has held onto this car for the past twenty years and is now only selling to free up money and space for a new project. Maintained by both his own two full time mechanics and Malcolm Collinson Restorations in Farnham, Surrey, the car has wanted for nothing and always been dry stored in his purpose built, carpeted 60 car garage. Described as the only one of his cars his wife actually enjoys going out in, the 4.2 litre Series I car is known in E-Type circles as being the best balance in terms of drivability, comfort and looks. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is torn at the idea of moving it on to a new custodian, but has decided to let it go and be enjoyed by someone else. Supplied with a V5C registration document, maintenance and service handbook, many MoT test certificates and invoices for work carried out by Malcolm Collinson. The best E-Type, in the best specification and from a long term, loving home. What more could a passionate new E-Type owner ask for?
1984 MG Metro Turbo Transmission: manualMileage:7376The MG Metro was introduced in October 1982 some six months after the launch of the MG Metro 1300. The MG Metro Turbo was a leader for its day with the Lotus Engineering assisted design for the very comprehensive changes that were done to the engine which was very capable of handling the modest 93 bhp the standard engine was quoted at, although many actually delivered closer to 100 in standard unmodified form. Later tuned race cars would push that power to 200bhp, a massive power level for that period and even more so for a 1300cc engine. Other positive features included powerful servo assisted brakes using four-pot calipers and ventilated discs up front. The Turbo also came with a bodykit that provided a front spoiler and four-wheel spats to go with the MG Metro rear spoiler and this together with the use of Turbo only specific larger 13" alloy wheels and low profile tyres the individual look was enhanced considerably. One of the pocket rockets of its day, only 22,000 were made and survivors very rarely come to market now.First registered on 21st March 1984, the MG Metro Turbo offered here is nothing short of incredible. The car is completely original having been lovingly cared for by its first owner for the first 30 years of its life. Mr. Lamont purchased the car new from Lex Mead of Bexleyheath, Kent for the sum of £5,500. The car was used lightly for the first five years when a mere 6,532 miles were put on it. The car was then taken off the road by Mr. Lamont and stored in the garage at his new home until July 1999 when it was displayed at the Guildford MG show. Whilst stored the car had been regularly started to maintain it. Winning its class in concours events in both 2001 and 2002, Mr. Lamont felt he had made his point that his car was truly exceptional. In the years since it has covered few miles, but always maintained in perfect running order. Amazingly, all the documentation remains with the car from the original V5 logbook, to its original purchase invoice book pack and manuals. Along with the prizes won there are many receipts and relevant period publications. The car is so original that other than a light refurbishment to the seat covers in 2012 and a total brake overhaul in 2013, the car is totally original. It sits on a set of original wheels with modern tyres, but the original wheels that came with the car from new and their original tyres are also included. Having resided since 2019 as part of a large collection, the vendor has decided to move the car on to free up both space and funds for a new project. He reports the car to run and drive very well and is a time warp example, impossible to replicate.Supplied with a V5C registration document, original invoice, book pack, maintenance and service handbooks, many MoT test certificates, invoices, photo CD and publications. This presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a three owner, full history from new, perfect condition example.
2009 MyCar Transmission: manualMileage:400After a tortuously delayed launch, the electric MyCar went on sale in London in 2009. Announced in the Summer of 2008 and originally slated for distribution by the NICE Car Company, the two seater city runabout looked doomed to obscurity after NICE went into administration. Although the performance is pretty mediocre, it will only run for 60 miles on one charge and the max speed is 40mph. The design is genuinely original and the interior feels solid. The firm distributing the MyCar was in fact EV Stores, based on Park Lane, these vehicles cost £9,995 when new. This amazing two-seater, with a truly international pedigree was designed by Giugiaro of Italdesign and was made in Hong Kong. This example is presented in blue with a black interior. It comes with its original user manual, original membership pack and new batteries were fitted in 2022. This great little runabout can be charged via a three pin, 13 amp, plug and has a range of 60 miles on a full charge. With minimal mileage covered and subject to a recent full vehicle check, a V5C registration document, four new tyres and an MoT test certificate until March 2024, this would be a fun and very economic two-seater to enjoy in town, particularly with fuel costs being what they are currently!
1963 Alvis TD21 Series II Saloon by Park Ward Transmission: manualMileage:89078The highly refined and supremely elegant Alvis TD21 was launched in late 1958 and owes its stylistic origins to a special-order Hermann Graber coupé variant of the TC21/100 with coach-built by Park Ward. 785 versions of the Series I were manufactured with just 285 Series IIs with the latter variant upgraded with four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes as well as door frames and bodywork now constructed of aluminium for lightness. The previously stand-alone fog lamps were now built into the front of the car, recessed in the new circular air intakes, one for the heater, the other for the carburettors, A five speed manual ZF gearbox was also now installed although the Borg-Warner automatic unit remained available as an option. The extensive aluminium coachwork has been taken back to bare metal in the past with relatively recent blue paintwork still looking fresh on this five-speed manual example. There are some minor remedial repairs required across the bodywork including surface chrome-work. The wire wheels are in good order as indeed are the Vredestein tyres. The interior grey leather trim has been replaced with high quality hide in the front seats with the rear seats remaining original. The armrests and leather door-cappings are also original and, according to the extensive history file, this benefits from a new MoT test certificate valid until July 2024 and with no issues to note. With an insurance valuation by the Alvis Owners Club of £25,000 in 2013, this is offered without reserve and should attract significant interest. Interested parties should note that the brakes on this vehicle have failed. However, it will still be sold at auction with permission to repair the system at the vendors expense and deliver it free of charge (within 100 miles) to the new owner.
1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Transmission: manualMileage:74600The 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL, also known as the 'Pagoda', is a classic luxury sports car that epitomises elegance and performance. With its sleek and timeless design, it captivates car enthusiasts even today. Powered by a 2.3 litre inline-six engine, it delivers a smooth driving experience and impressive acceleration. The 230 SL features a unique, detachable hardtop resembling a pagoda roof, which adds to its iconic appeal. Its luxurious interior boasts comfortable leather seats, modern amenities for its time, and excellent craftsmanship. The 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL represents a perfect blend of style, power, and sophistication, making it a coveted collector's item. This stunning example was supplied by franchised dealer Carols of Wolverhampton on 1st July 1964. The car changed hands in 1973 and was used until 1978 when it was placed in long term storage. It re-emerged in 2017 and has since undergone a comprehensive list of work. These works have been undertaken by two retired Carols of Wolverhampton mechanics who between them have an impressive 100 years of Mercedes experience. The list of items attended to include an overhaul of the brake calipers, servo, master cylinder, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. All brake hoses were replaced, as was the propshaft centre bearing mounting. The gearbox was overhauled and benefits from new bearings and fresh transmission oil. The original Bosch electric fuel pump was refurbished as was the entire fuel system including the fitting of new fuel pipes. The radiator has received an uprated core and all new hoses. A new head gasket was fitted and all engine gaskets have been replaced. The list of work continues and includes reconditioning the starter motor and injector pump. The engine bolts and engine mountings, distributor cap, all plug leads and plug caps have all been replaced. Evidence of further works is available in the history file for this car and includes sympathetic refurbishment of the interior, a respray and the fitting of a new mohair hood. Although, often said this car really is ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.
1997 Chevrolet Corvette C5 Targa Transmission: automaticMileage:66500The C5 Corvette - only the fifth incarnation of America's most popular sports car since its introduction in 1953 - was launched to rave reviews in 1997 and featured an all-new body that was both modern and much stronger than before. With a rear-mounted transaxle for the first time, the Corvette had near perfect 50:50 weight distribution and more interior space as well. The new alloy block LS1 V8, an engine Australian's have grown to love over the years, used state-of-the-art technology with a cast-alloy head and developed a massive 345bhp at 5600rpm along with 350lb/ft of torque. There was a choice of two transmissions, including GM's own electronically controlled four-speed manual or the Borg-Warner six-speed manual with a Getrag limited-slip diff. An Electronic Throttle Control system enabled a limitless range of throttle progression. The shapely and more aero coupé body featured a removable hardtop while the new twin-pod instrument panel recalled the Stingrays of the Sixties in design. Despite being larger than the previous C4 Vette, Chevrolet's engineers actually managed to shed weight through the clever use of lightweight materials and more compact LS1 engine, performance improved markedly as a result. The quarter-mile was dispatched in 13.28 seconds and 0-100km/h took just five seconds, making this one of the fastest cars on the road in 1997. The C5 Corvette was, arguably for the first time ever, a world class sports car genuinely capable of matching the best European cars on every level. Factory-backed C5-R racers took on the Porsches in major endurance races from 1999, scoring some significant wins. Today, the C5 offers unrivalled value for money in terms of looks, performance and reliability. This superb example is presented in silver with a black leather interior. It comes with electric windows, electric seats, suede headlining, cruise control and a factory fitted Bose entertainment system with CD player. The present owner imported this Corvette in March 2022 and then set about converting the headlights to comply with UK regulation, powder coated the wheels and fitted an aftermarket Bassani exhaust system and a KNN induction air filter. Its four-speed automatic gearbox is mated to a LS1 5.7 litre Chevrolet V8 providing excellent performance. The car comes with various handbooks and Corvette wallet, Carfax information sheet which verifies its mileage, two sets of keys and a new MoT test certificate. This is a great American muscle car presented in good condition at a reasonable price.
1969 Fiat Abarth 595 Evocation Transmission: manualMileage:94778It is not so often that a motorcar surprises us. The Fiat 500 surely needs little introduction, suffice to say that this compact car became ripe for tuning with Abarth leading the way in converting them into successful fast road and racing cars of the period. With genuine Abarth models now seeing some extraordinary prices, it is no surprise that many have been converted to replicate these versions of the Fiat 500.This classic Fiat 500 started life as a 'Lusso' model when a previous owner who was declared an aficionado of the marque and well known for his work on Abarth's in the northwest of Italy, carefully and sympathetically converted to an Abarth recreation. The 650cc engine has been rebuilt and fettled to an Abarth specification and includes the decals. The interior of this car replicates an original Abarth with a Jaeger binnacle, steering wheel and dashboard badging. Our vendor who is an avid Fiat 500 and Abarth collector has owned this example since 2016 and is selling due to rationalising his collection. Unlike many 595/695 Abarth recreations, the accuracy of this conversion and the attention to detail mean that this presents every bit the real thing but at a fraction of the price.Guide Price £11,000-£15,000
1965 David Brown Tractor Transmission: manualMileage:57851Probably better known for his ownership of Aston Martin from 1947 to 1972, David Brown become M.D. of the family business, David Brown Gear Company Ltd in 1931. He turned to tractor manufacturing in 1936 in collaboration with Harry Ferguson, manufacturing the Ferguson-Brown tractor in West Yorkshire. The company broke new ground which others were only to follow later, but being a pioneering company ultimately led to its downfall. The Ferguson-Brown had many innovative features, including the use of cast alloy for many components which was light but prone to damage. David Brown Ltd became one of the largest manufacturers of tractors, however the owner's continued subsidisation of Aston Martin was unsustainable, and the sports car maker was sold in 1972. The tractor division was purchased by Tenneco International and re-badged the product as 'Case'.Manufactured in 1965, this tractor is thought to have spent its early life working on farms up until the early 90's. This tractor has been restored to a good standard and we are led to believe the work was undertaken in the early 2000's by its then owner, since the restoration the tractor has been used sparingly and used more as a working ornament than as an agricultural tractor hence its colourway. Boasting a new battery, the three-cylinder diesel engine started on the button during our visit, this tractor is one not to be missed and is ready to be used.Estimate £3,000-£7,000
2001 Ferrari 360 Modena Spider Transmission: manualMileage:28000The Ferrari 360 was manufactured from 1999 to 2005 and succeeded the F355. It is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive and V8 powered coupé. Ferrari partnered with Alcoa to produce an entirely new, all aluminium space-frame chassis that was 40% stiffer than the F355. Along with a lightweight frame, the new Pininfarina body styling deviated from traditions of the previous decade's sharp angles and flip-up headlights. The new V8 engine utilised a 3.6 litre capacity and, despite what looked like, on paper, as modest gains, in reality the power to weight ratio was significantly improved. The first model to be rolled out was the 360 Modena, followed later by the 360 Spider and finally, as a special edition, the Challenge Stradale.Finished in an out of range body colour, specially ordered at the time, Tour de France blue with tan leather. This stunning manual 360 Spider has covered a mere 28,000 miles from new and has been with our vendor a private owner for the past decade. Originally registered on 24th May 2001 this four previous owner example boasts a service history with Maranello initially between 2002 and 2008 (six services including cambelts twice) before Rosneath continued to service the car five further times up until 21,906 miles before servicing was then taken over by SMDG for a full cambelt service at 22,992 miles. Our vendor purchased the car as the second owner in 2004 with just 1,112 miles on the clock from Maranello for £121,000 and owned for four years until 2008 when he sold the car to a Ferrari collector and registered under Knight Frank LLP but our vendor regretted the decision and five years later in 2013 decided to buy the car back to place in his collection having such fond memories of the car. Supplied with the Ferrari Certificate of Conformity the car was specified when new with red brake calipers, electronically operated seats, xenon lights with power wash, enamel Scuderia wing shields, Daytona seat inserts and a six-disc CD changer. The manual 360 is fast becoming a prized asset for collectors and in what has to be one of the best colour combinations for a spider we have seen this is a fabulous opportunity to own one of the best drivers Ferrari's of the modern era, our vendor liked it so much he bought it twice!
1921 Ford Model T Pick-up Transmission: manualMileage:From 1909 to 1927, the Ford Motor Company built more than 15 million Model T cars. Without a doubt, Henry Ford transformed the economic and social fabric of the 20th century. The most popular body styles were two and five-seater open touring cars; however, a very wide variety of bodies were available over the years including closed cars, vans and one tonne truck versions. Special bodies and many other parts were available from accessory suppliers so it was possible to convert your Model T car to anything from a 25 seater Charabanc or taxi to a racing car or tractor. Driving a Model T is easy; if you've never driven a conventional car. The accelerator is controlled by hand using a lever under the steering wheel. Forward gears are selected using the left of the three pedals, reverse by using the centre pedal and braking is achieved using the right pedal. Normal cruising speed is 35-40mph and fuel consumption is 20-25mpg.This award winning and delightfully handsome Model T pick-up was owned by Grays Timber Products of Aberdeen and was used as a company promotional vehicle. Grays were bought out by Jewson Ltd in July 2003 and the vehicle was put into storage with Hampshire Classics Ltd after they collected the vehicle from Forfar in 2004. The truck remained with Hampshire Classics for a number of years before being purchased by them in 2013 with ownership being transferred to their M.D. Mark Papworth in May 2015 who remains the current owner today. This remarkably well-preserved Ford is currently 102 years old and has won a number of rosettes at shows in the past. In September 2020 Hampshire Classics had the vehicle transported to Tuckett Brothers where it underwent significant reconditioning and a couple of sensible modifications. This included a radiator repair, a conversion to 12 volts and the fitment of a new alternator. New clutch bands were also fitted. The total cost of the invoice was £2,238.60. Prior to the truck being delivered back to Hampshire Classics, Mark and his wife Linsey were given a lesson on how to drive this Model T pick-up by Mr. Tuckett, of which a video is available. This is a stand-out 1921 Model T that can be used for promotional work, exhibited at shows or displayed as office art.
1972 Ford Transit Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:99Ford's ubiquitous Transit range needs little introduction. Launched in 1965, it has been Europe's best-selling light commercial vehicle for the last 40 years, and is now into its fourth-generation and Mk.7 incarnation. More intriguingly, in the 1970s, no less than 95 per cent of robberies employing a vehicle apparently involved a Transit of some description! Famed for bringing car-like handling, drive-ability and comfort to the van world, it was the ideal base for all manner of conversions, including motor caravans. Power in the early models was supplied by 1.7 or 2.0-litre V4 versions of Ford's Essex powerplant. The suspension was deliberately basic, with live axles front and rear. A wide track provided exceptional stability.Built in 1972, but not registered until 1st February 1973, this Mk. I 'single wheel' Ford Transit presents beautifully having just gone through a full restoration. The body was stripped back to bare metal at which point all necessary repairs were undertaken. This included repairs to the floors, chassis legs, bulk head, doors, windows and windscreen surrounds. The van was then treated to a full respray in Ford Light Blue. Fitted with a later Ford Transit engine along with a five-speed gearbox, the van also benefits from modern vehicle reliability. It has also been subtly upgraded with a hidden removable tow hitch, (which hides behind the rear number plate) and the rear interior has been professionally 'wooded out' by a skilled carpenter to a high standard. The van is reported to 'start on the button' and to run and drive very well. Forming part of a large private collection throughout its restoration, the van was originally intended to be a race support vehicle for the vendors historic racing endeavours and is now only now for sale to free up some space for a new incoming project. These early Mk. I Transits are hard to come by, let alone in such wonderful condition and sympathetically upgraded to be practical and pleasant to drive in modern conditions and as such, is an opportunity not to be missed.
1960 Austin Healey Sprite Mk. I 'Frogeye' Transmission: manualMileage:59351The 1958 Austin Healey Sprite was announced to the motoring press in Monte Carlo on 20th May 1958 and just prior to the Monaco Grand Prix. Designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company, the car came under the BMC umbrella with production being carried out at the MG works at Abingdon in Oxfordshire. Its specifications were basic being without exterior door handles; the driver and passenger were required to reach inside to open the door and access to the spare wheel and luggage compartment was achieved by tilting the seat-backs forward and reaching under the rear deck. This cost cutting exercise kept the price down to £669. Power was supplied by a 948cc overhead valve engine derived from the Morris Minor and Austin A35. The cute looks soon led to it being known as the 'Frogeye' in the UK and 'Bugeye' in the US. Its nickname derived from the headlights prominently mounted on top of the bonnet and inboard of the front wings.Originally registered on 19th May 1960 and still bearing its original registration number of 855 PPE, this Austin Healey was manufactured on 21st April 1960 and was despatched to the supplying dealer, Wimbledon Motors Limited on 2nd May. The current vendor is a very knowledgeable enthusiast and he purchased this 'Frogeye' in 2019 and restored the car throughout the lockdown period. Floors have been replaced as have the spring hangers and sills on both sides. The engine is a 1098 unit and has previously had a rebuild with the cylinder head being gas flowed. The head was skimmed giving a compression ratio of 9.5:1. The vendor has carried out additional engine works, replacing the big-ends and also the cam followers, this engine also has a high-lift camshaft. An aluminium radiator has been fitted as have new brakes and tyres. The rear axle ratio is 3.55:1 and fuel is delivered via a Weber carburettor, the original carburettor is supplied with the car. The colour combination is the original according to the Heritage Certificate, the exterior being Nevada Beige and the interior is Cherry Red. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a good collection of invoices, together with two buff logbooks. With the upgrades and enhancements this Austin Healey benefits from it may not appeal to the purists, however if you wanted to buy a 'Frogeye' that has been thoroughly, yet sympathetically worked on and is ready to be enjoyed, then look no further. Often described as a car with a smile on its face, this is a car that is sure put a smile on the face of its new owner.
2002 DAX Tojeiro Transmission: manualMileage:14000The hugely charismatic DAX Cobra has remained the undisputed market leader for more than 25 years and has steadily established itself as a much sought after classic sports car in its own right. The car's enduring popularity owes much to DAX's policy of continual product improvement and painstaking attention to detail. A number of engine choices have been used from the small-block Chevrolet V8 to other popular engines including units from the Ford small block and all-aluminium Chevrolet LS ranges with Rover V8 and Jaguar units still proving highly popular with some people. It is no exaggeration to say that these cars amaze all who go out in them; harnessing the power with consummate ease and providing levels of grip, composure and ride comfort that simply have to be experienced to be believed. Even Jonathon Palmer was heard to say, 'Wow, that's just staggering!' when taking the new DAX demonstrator for a few laps around Brands Hatch; great praise indeed from an ex-F1 driver! This 2002 registered Dax presents superbly in blue with cream interior. This is a real powerhouse of a Cobra sporting a 467ci under the bonnet. The growl of this V8 is addictive and the performance needs to be experience to be fully appreciated. We are advised this Dax Tojeiro drives with no known faults and given the modest estimate, is sure to attract attention on auction day. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 19th April 2024, this car is simply stunning and would put a smile on anyone's face.
1960 Austin Mini Seven Transmission: manualMileage:52795The history of this revolutionary motorcar is well known and its impact socially, culturally and mechanically is well documented. The Swinging Sixties, The Beatles, Twiggy and the Mini are inexorably combined to represent an era that is remembered with great fondness by many people. Very few classic cars have seen such a meteoric rise in values as the Mini has over the past five years. The Mini holds an iconic place in British motor car history and in the hearts and minds of any driver, it is safe to say no other car can spark a conversation in the same way with many people having owned a Mini and likely to have a story or two to tell. On its introduction in August 1959 the Mini was marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini-Minor. The Austin Seven was renamed Austin Mini in January 1962 and Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. The early Minis have become particularly sought after with 1959 and 1960 examples difficult to find in original condition. The supplied British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate shows this early Mini Seven to have been completed in the colour it still retains of Farina Grey. Supplied to the UK home market, its date of build and despatch was 4th May 1960, destined for Evans Motors Limited in Carmarthen, Wales. Supplied new with a heater, (essential in Wales), but with no other optional extras. The car retains its grey and blue leather cloth interior and presents well appearing very original throughout. Coming from part of a large private collection, the car is reported to run and drive very well and is now only for sale as part of a downsizing of the collection.Supplied with a V5C registration document and BMIHT certificate and with incredibly only two former keepers, this wonderful example is a rare find in such original condition, especially with such low ownership.
1953 Fiat Topolino Transmission: manualMileage:If they dished out Oscars for cuteness, the adorable Topolino would surely be head of the queue. A masterpiece of minimalist engineering, it was the brainchild of Fiat boss Senator Giovanni Agnelli who, in 1934, envisaged a small mass produced 'people's car' capable of carrying two people in comfort with 50kg (110lbs) of luggage. The task was entrusted to 29 year old Dante Giacosa, an ace engineer who had cut his teeth in Fiat's aeronautical department and was now a fast rising star of the car division (by 1946 he was director of engineering for the whole company). Launched in 1936, the resulting Fiat 500 (quickly dubbed the 'Topolino' or 'Little Mouse') was an instant classic, bristling with space saving ingenuity and engineering subtlety. The coachwork was largely the work of chief stylist, Rudolfo Schaffer, and not only looked gorgeous but also endowed the car with great strength when bolted to Giacosa's chassis. It was powered by a 569cc four-cylinder, side valve, water-cooled engine mounted ahead of the front axle, with the radiator located behind the engine where it doubled as the interior heater. Although it developed a modest 13bhp, it could still reach 55mph and cover 50 miles on a single gallon of petrol. Transmission was via a four-speed gearbox, with independent front suspension, 12 volt electrics and Lockheed hydraulic brakes. Best of all was the roll-top canvas roof which turned it into almost a full convertible. This hugely desirable left hand drive example is presented in a wonderful colour combination and has been in the current vendors collection since 2012. During its current tenure, this Fiat has been used occasionally in the summer months and has always been dry stored during this time. In 2019 this Topolino was the subject of an extensive mechanical overhaul, including a full engine, gearbox and clutch rebuild, and new electrics, at a cost of circa £15,000. As such the vendor reports that this Fiat runs and drives very well indeed. It benefits from the delightful roll-top sunroof which is essential in the summer. A great little crowd pleaser which is practical and fun in town or in the country. Offered without reserve, this charming Topolino is sure to be keenly contested at auction. Guide price £8,000 - £14,000
2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante Transmission: paddleMileage:49124Featuring a bonded aluminium structure for strength and lightness, the V8 Vantage introduced Aston's new automated/manual gearbox option, the Sportshift. This added electro-hydraulic control to the existing six-speed manual gearbox to offer improved shift times and replaced the conventional manual gear lever with push button controls and paddles on the steering wheel. The Vantage was an immediate success with some dealer estimated a three-year waiting list by the time the car was first shown. It would later go on to receive Jeremy Clarkson's 2005 Best Sounding Car of the Year and now considered one of the best-looking cars of all time and become an undisputed modern classic with values rising over the last 12 months.Supplied with just two previous owners and a full Aston Martin main agent and subsequent specialist service history, this desirable example is supplied with Onyx Black coachwork with a matching Obsidian Black leather interior, contrasting white stitching and a black mohair hood. The condition, when viewed, was excellent throughout and powered by the hugely flexible V8, 4.3 litre engine mated to a 'Sportshift' gearbox. It starts beautifully and, as you would expect, sounded just as good. Another item to note is that it comes equipped with a factory-fitted, fob-operated, exhaust gate button that opens the taps to free extra decibels when required. Just the thing as you approach a long stretch of mountain tunnel! In 2016, the car had a replacement clutch fitted and has covered just 6,000 entirely trouble-free miles since.Service record2006 PDI Brentwood Aston Martin 2008 9439m Stratstone Western Avenue2009 13,187m Stratstone Western Avenue2010 17,861m Harwoods Aston Martin2011 22,277m Harwoods Aston Martin2012 26,613m Harwoods Aston Martin2013 30,972m Harwoods Aston Martin2014 34,577m Harwoods Aston Martin2015 37,243m Harwoods Aston Martin2016 42,090m McGurk Performance Cars2017 45,996m McGurk Performance Cars2019 47,938m Hofmann's of Henley2023 49,124m Oselli Engineering Ltd
1958 Cadillac Sedan De Ville Transmission: automaticMileage:61700Updated for 1958 with a new grille and quad headlamps, the Cadillac Series Sixty-Two Sedan De Ville was powered by a 365 cu in (6.0 litre) V8 engine allied to three-speed automatic transmission. Overseen by the legendary Harley Earl, everything from the rubber guards on the front bumpers to the chrome caps on the rear wings was styled to the max.Imported from Colorado in 1987, '732 XUR' has had just four UK keepers over the past thirty-four years. Showing 61,700 miles on the odometer, this Cadillac has benefited from an extensive brake overhaul within the last three years including the fitment of new brake shoes, master cylinders, front cylinders, brake servos and hoses. More recently in 2023 a complete new stainless steel exhaust system was fitted as well as new tyres all round. Finished in light green with white and green upholstery, this Sedan de Ville does not want for road presence! A fabulous piece of Americana, the be-finned behemoth features such niceties as power steering, power brakes and automatic transmission. The Series 62 is offered for sale with a large history file comprising the original workshop manual, Colorado State title document, numerous invoices, old MoT test certificates and a recent MoT test certificate valid until May 2024. Driven to the auction directly from the vendors private collection in the heart of Kent, this Cadillac really is an opportunity not to be missed.
1997 Bentley Continental R Transmission: automaticMileage:98000Since 1921, the Bentley name has remained synonymous with prestige, performance and luxury. The 'Continental' designation recalls the Bentley Continental of the post-war period. The 'R' resonates to the R-Type Bentleys from the 1950's as well as the Turbo R of the 1980's. Bentley's 1980's resurgence relied exclusively on models whose basic architecture was shared with other Rolls-Royce products; however, the Bentley Continental R was unique to the Bentley marque. Despite the need to incorporate non-traditional features such as doors recessed into the roof, the result looked every bit a Bentley, albeit one re-stated for the 1990's. Needless to say, the performance was outstanding, the combination of the Turbo R engine in the new wind-cheating shape cutting the 0-60mph time to under six seconds and boosting top speed to in excess of 150mph.This truly immaculate Bentley Continental R is finished in Cobalt Blue metallic paintwork and defies the mileage listed on its odometer, in essence the condition of the car is comparable with a car having covered a third of the 98,000 miles. The interior presents in Silverstone hide with a blue top roll and contrasting dark blue underside, dark blue carpets with unmarked dark blue lambswool over rugs and rear seat cushion, an upgraded Hi-Fi sat nav system and rear parking sensors. The car is also a 1998 year model first registered in 1997 thus benefitting from the later refinements. This is a fine example and a well-cared for motor car with a comprehensive service history, including fully stamped service booklet and owner's manual, and three sets of keys including the chauffeur's key. the car has been maintained by Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists, Ranmore (formerly Royce engineering) since 2006 and in recent years they have continued their maintenance for our vendor who has owned the car since late 2020. Just five previous keepers have experienced the luxury and power that is derived from the 6.75 litre Bentley power plant and given the condition most must have been in a straight line. This is a car that truly must be seen to be appreciated, very few Continental R's we have offered are in this condition and can boast being such a colourway coupled to the desirability of being a late example of the marque.
1989 Porsche 944 Turbo S Transmission: manualMileage:121000The Porsche 944 was built from 1982 to 1991 and was built on the same platform as the 924. It was intended to last into the 1990's but major revisions planned for a 944 S3 model were eventually rolled into the 968 instead which replaced the 944. The 944 was a successful model and was available as both a coupé and cabriolet in naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. In mid-1985, the Porsche 944 underwent significant changes. In 1988, Porsche introduced the 944 Turbo S with a more powerful engine 250bhp 258 lb‹…ft of torque at 4,000rpm. This higher output was achieved by using a larger KKK K26-8 turbocharger housing and revised engine mapping which allowed maintaining maximum boost until 5800rpm, compared to the standard 944 Turbo. In June 1988, Car and Driver tested the 944 Turbo S (with the advantage of shorter final drive gear) and achieved a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 5.5 seconds and a quarter mile time of 13.9 seconds. Top speed was factory rated at 162mph. The post 1985 cars, turbos and S variants are considered more desirable than the earlier cars, having improved interiors, suspensions and engines, together with a limited slip differential and larger brakes.Presented in Glacier Blue with a pinstripe blue velour trim with blue leather, this late 944 turbo S is offered with the extras such as sports M030 sports pack, 'big black' brakes, limited slip differential, electric seats, electric windows, electric heated mirrors, electric sunroof, electric tailgate, upgraded sound system, headlight washers, ABS, power steering. Described as in a very good condition with no rust issues, completely solid and driving beautifully boasting just five former keepers. The car comes with a comprehensive service history and a thick folder of receipts and paperwork, as well as all the original manuals, including original option stickers, a host of MoT test certificates covering the last 30 years, two keys, original Porsche leather folder, original space saver and a set of original tools. Within the history file we can find that some of the recent works include a new head gasket, water pump, rollers, tensioners, belts, new brake lines fitted at Octane Garage. The sills were taken care of before the undercarriage and an anti-corrosion treatment, then a quality full body respray in the original rare Glacier Blue colour was undertaken at CMS Coachworks. At 120,000 miles Koni adjustable shocks were fitted and 1,000 miles later the brakes were reconditioned, turbo pressure release valve replaced as were the fuel pump, cooling fan, sunroof and driver door seals. The most recent service was in January 2023 with an MoT test certificate in January 2023 with no advisories. It is rare to find the desirable late 944 Turbo's in such condition and this UK supplied right hand drive manual sportscar is an 80's treat!

This convertible presents extremely well in Polaris Silver with a dark blue roof and a pinstripe. Both the paintwork and interior trim appear to be in wonderful condition. The seats show little evidence of use and the carpets are in good order. The dashboard shows no cracking or marks and the roof mechanism works well. Even the original radio cassette player works! Overall this delightful convertible is ideal for both summer motoring or long term investment. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until March 2024.
1991 Rover Mini JCW Recreation Transmission: manualMileage:8883The Mini had an impressive 41-year build run from 1959 until 2000. This car really deserves the title of motoring icon. Space saving front wheel drive design of the Mini influenced a generation of car makers. This was borne out in 1999 when the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century. The Mini Mk. I had three major UK updates; the Mk. II, the Clubman and the Mk. III. The Mini Cooper and Cooper 'S' were sportier versions that were successful as rally cars, winning the Monte Carlo Rally four times from 1964 through to 1967. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor, until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969.This immaculate 1992 example has benefitted from a complete photographic restoration. During the process it was decided to give the car the look of a Cooper S from an earlier era. The no expense spared work was completed over a four-year period has been done well and the paintwork is in good order with a red body and contrasting black roof. Fitted with three front driving lamps and one rear, leather bonnet straps and privacy glass, this Mini certainly looks the part and, we are informed, drives superbly. Not surprising as this Mini is also fitted with Paul Ivey racing steel valves, a Bret Sims fast road cam, a balanced crankshaft and duplex double timing chain, double silicone HT leads, an LCB three branch straight through exhaust, a quick shift gearbox and GMAX shock absorbers and suspension kit. The file for this car contains a V5C registration document, a full list of the works completed and various bills and receipts. The sale of this Mini includes the cherished registration plate. Fun to drive and reasonably priced.
1955 Morgan Plus 4 Transmission: manualMileage:40468The 1955 Morgan Plus 4 is a classic British sports car which features a 2.1 litre, four-cylinder engine that delivers around 90 horsepower and a four-speed manual transmission. The Plus 4 was introduced in 1950 and was an evolution of the earlier Morgan 4/4 model. The Plus 4 had a longer wheelbase and a wider track than its predecessor, which made for improved handling and stability. The body of the Plus 4 was made of ash wood framing with aluminium or steel body panels, and the car had a top speed of around 95mph (153km/h). The Plus 4 was also known for its distinctive styling, which featured a rounded front end with a large grille and headlights mounted on the fenders. This very original example is presented in blue with a black interior and has a black hood. It has a rear mounted luggage rack and according to the owner the car runs and drives nicely. Its originality is very endearing, with the interior certainly looking like it's the original including the dash, steering wheel and seats. These are rare sports cars with very few being made, and this is certainly one for the collector or indeed for someone to enjoy as has the present owner over the last 28 years. Today, the Morgan Plus 4 is highly sought-after for its classic styling and driving experience.
1979 Range Rover Suffix G Two-Door (3.5 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:70168The first-generation Range Rover was produced between 1970 and 1996. The original car was not designed as a luxury 4x4; whilst certainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, the early Range Rovers had fairly basic, utilitarian interiors with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards that were designed to be washed down with a hose. Convenience features such as power assisted steering, carpeted floors; air conditioning, cloth/leather seats and wooden interior trim were fitted later in the production run. The Range Rover also served as the base for specialist utility vehicles including fire engines and command centres for the army and police. Marketed as 'A Car For All Reasons', the Range Rover was more capable off-road than the Land Rover but was much more comfortable, offering a top speed in excess of 100mph.This particular example was originally supplied to Belgium and the British Motor Heritage Trust Certificate confirms it was originally painted in the very desirable Sahara Dust colour, which it still wears today, and our vendor believes most of the paint is original. Being a late 1979 car, this Range Rover is a Suffix G, which was the final iteration of 1970's Range Rover's and was the result of nearly a decade of continuous development. This Range Rover appears to be a very original example which would benefit from some recommissioning and would then be an ideal classic to take to the continent.
