A 1948 MG TC, registration number LSU 781, chassis number TC 6479, engine number XPAGC58197, green. MG's first post WWII sports car, the TC remained in production for four years with a not inconsiderable 10,000 cars finding new owners. This particular example, which we have the pleasure in offering for sale, was originally an export model to the USA as part of the Export or Die British Government scheme. From information ascertained from an MG Octagon Car Club certificate it can be seen that the MG was re-imported from the USA in early 1988 and was previously fitted with an XPAG 7144 engine. Since arriving back on British soil the MG has seen considerable expenditure culminating in a very smart example. The coachwork has recently been re-sprayed in a very distinctive light metallic green, which complements the tan leather interior and matching weather gear. The vendor also advises us that the wire wheels have recently been refurbished and new tyres fitted. The MG is coming to auction with the history file containing receipts from marque specialists, newspaper articles, and an original instruction manual. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations

It was at this point re-painted to its original blue and black colour scheme. After the restoration programme the Buick was put into storage having never been used on the road. Since its time in storage it has undergone a programme of re-commissioning to get the car running, and the current owner has seen further works to make the car a good driving example and the car will be driven approx 40 miles to the auction.
