1967 MGB GT MK 1 Registration number: LCX 37OE Date of first registration: 02/02/1967 TAX: Exempt correct historic vehicle classification VIN Number: GHD3 124932 Engine number: 18 GB UH 76979 MOT expires: Expired 25/09/2018 (MOT exempt) V5C: Present listing 10 former keepers 1797 cc Manual 4 speed non overdrive LCX 370E was registered in May 1967 with Appleyards dealership in Bradford. The car has been re commissioned by its former keeper after nearly 30 years of sitting in a garage. For some reason LCX 370E was taken off the road and an attempt at a V8 conversion followed. Luckily this failed and the original engine, 4 speed non overdrive gearbox and axle were re-installed. This had however led to various sections of the centre tunnel being cut away and altered. The car then fell into the hands of a man who took it as payment for work on the deceased owner's property. He then set about getting the vehicle running and carrying our various body repairs. The current keepers bought the vehicle from this man and applied for the replacement V5C from DVLA. Sadly, all other documentation for the car had been destroyed. The damaged centre tunnel was replaced along with any other body work requiring attention. The windscreen was replaced and the car was repainted in BMW MINI 'Off White'. The homemade bright red and cream vinyl interior was replaced with black leather with white piping. The seats were refurnished with new diaphragms along with a custom black vinyl headlining and new carpet set. Door panels front and rear have been replaced along with a freshly trimmed dash and correct period steering wheel. Other recent works include a full engine strip and check with the head receiving an unleaded conversion, skim gasket etc along with a thermostat and housing. Refurbished front Armstrong shock absorbers and the fitting of a dynamotor. LCX 370E is sold with a file containing photographs of the re-paint in 2017, previous MOT Certificate, Heritage Certificate showing the original engine number etc. HPI Report, various invoices and spares - including an indoor car cover. The current owners chose to re-paint and re-trim the vehicle in their choice of colour as the intention was to keep the car, however circumstances have changed and the guide price is set to reflect this and also the finishing touches required. The doors require adjustment since the re-paint, speedometer and rev counter stopped working when the dynameter was fitted, sun visors need sourcing and other small details. The previous MOT was passed in September 2017 with no advisories and the car has since had the engine overhaul and covered less than 100 miles. Body Work: 4 Chrome/Plastics/Trim: 3 Glass: 4 Paint: 3 Wheels/tyres: 3 Door shut: 2 Door Gap: 2 Dashboard/Door cards/Carpets: 3 Headlining: 3 Seats: 4 Trim: 4 Mechanical components: 4 Running: 4 Starting: 4 Under Bonnet: 3 Underneath: 4 Brakes: 4 Gearbox/Clutch: 4 Suspension: 4 Ancillary components: 4 Main components: 4 Car History File: 4 A good solid example of MG's 1960s coupe. One to use and improve, much work done over the years. Paintwork would benefit from cutting back although very presentable. Door shut and gap need adjusting. Headlining panel sagging. Runs very well.
1928 Sunbeam 16.9 Saloon Registration number: KX 1551 Date of first registration: 08/12/1928 VIN number: 6234KH Engine number: 5046K MOT expires: N/A V5C present listing 3 former keepers Current mileage shown: N/A 2192 cc BlueThe Sunbeam marque was a force to be reckoned with in the 1920s, manufacturing a range of superb quality cars appealing to the discerning motorist. Introduced at the 1923 Olympia Motor Show, the 20/60 was based around a substantial ladder frame chassis equipped with leaf-sprung suspension (semi-elliptic front / cantilever rear) and four-wheel drum brakes. First registered in Newport Pagnell in December 1928, an exceptionally original car, still retaining the sill plates showing that it was built at the Morfield Works in Wolverhampton. The six-cylinder engine was fully rebuilt in 1972 with new pistons and a reground crank. It comes with a small amount of history including bills for the engine rebuild, a copy of the original buff logbook, a green continuation logbook from the 1950s and a modern V5C. Hand-painted many years ago and still retaining its original black leather interior, it can be enjoyed as it is, but would no doubt respond well to some cosmetic improvement. Accompanied with the car is a large history file, copies of parts and spares catalogue, original owner's manual and a copy of Bruce Dowells' book 'The Supreme Car', a hard-backed history of the Sunbeam motor car between 1899 and 1935. All in all, a lovely vintage Sunbeam with low ownership which has spent most of its life in the North of England and owned by a true Prewar car enthusiast.
