An 18ct gold manual wind rectangular wristwatch with gold deployant clasp stamped JC  Tank Normale, JLC movement number 1800693, Case back numbered 10385 and 7866, inside case numbered 10385, London hallmark for 1966 Jaeger-LeCoultre manual wind movement, white enamel dial with elongated Roman hourly numerals, blued steel hands, gold rectangular case with the back held by 4 gold screws and engraved DHC for Dodie Heath Cushingham, with London hallmarks for 1966, on a leather strap secured to the case by four gold screws, with gold Cartier deployant clasp numbered 1212 and marked JC and with London hallmark for 1966, sold together with a valuation for insurance from Cartier dated June 2017 confirming the provenance and date of manufacture 18.4mm x 25mm Property from the estate of the late Dodie Heath Rowena Dolores Heath (1934-2019), better known as Dodie Heath was a well known American star of stage and screen, featuring in films such as The Diary of Ann Frank and Brigadoon. She was happily married to film producer Jack Cushingham from 1962 until his death in 1985. This beautiful London made Cartier watch dates from 1966 and is engraved with her married initials DHC. Perhaps it was given to her as a gift by her new husband, but its manufacture also coincides with the release dates of several productions she featured in, including ‘The Fortune Cookie,’ ’Seconds’ and the crime drama  ‘Dog Eat Dog.’ Finding 1960’s Cartier Tank watches of any kind is rare these days, but finding a London made 1966 example with the original Cartier London deployant clasp with the same gold date is even rarer as these watches were made in significantly smaller numbers. This was probably because it was at this point that the New York, Paris and London branches all split up and ran as independent businesses. This was also the moment that Cartier London, lead by Jean-Jacques Cartier, had decided to produce its own wristwatches. The hands looks as though they have been removed and reattached as they are a little scratched at the centre.There are some losses to the pearl strings towards the clasp. The clasp still snaps securely.The watch does not run when wound and cannot be guaranteed for timekeeping.

A group of jewellery, comprising: a late 19th century 9ct gold facetted belcher and trombone link double Albert chain, suspending a gold mounted compass with twisted wire surround and engraved monogram verso, Albert chain length 40cm; a 9ct white gold synthetic spinel set eternity ring, Birmingham hallmarks; and a lady's Everite 9ct gold manual wind bracelet watch, London hallmarks (3)Condition Report: Chain 32.85 grams. Ring 2.06 grams. Watch 14.23 grams. Ring size P. Ring: underneath of settings dirty, would benefit from being cleaned. Some abrasions and facet junction wear to the synthetic spinels. Minor surface marks to the mount and some wear to the rhodium plating, would benefit from being replated. Chain: in a good overall condition. Minimal wear between links. Gold is tarnished in places. Both swivel clasps are functioning and springs feel firm. The chain is not hallmarked, but is stamped on the T bar and swivel clasps 9C, and with maker’s mark WHWLd on the swivel clasps. Compass: surface marks/scratches and a couple of dings verso. Some wear to the suspension hoop. Some chips and scratches to the glazed cover.
