1989 Mercedes W126 300 SE Auto SaloonMake: MercedesModel: 300 SEYear: 1989Mileage: 92507VIN: WDB1260242A491673Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: G677CJTTransmission: automaticAcquired by the vendor - the car's third owner - in 2014, this metallic green W126 300 SE has been garaged and regularly maintained since then. That helps to explain its condition, which is close to excellent inside and out; aside from a few very minor blemishes, it looks like a vehicle much, much younger than its 32 years. The interior is especially well-preserved; there's not even any wear to the cloth seating, as you would expect from most other cars this age. The history folder includes the original owner's manual, service book (stamped up to 86,100 miles in 2008 - but there's paper evidence of servicing since then), instruction manual for the modern Sony CD Bluetooth radio, and a spare set of keys. The invoices and bills date from December 2001 - when the mileage was 48,101 miles - and seems to be just general maintenance and minor jobs rather than any significant mechanical or body work, although in 2006, the fuel metering unit had to be replaced at a cost of over £1000. Current mileage is 92,259, and the MoT runs until April 2022. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 29TH JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

Current mileage is 193,829 miles, albeit with a cylinder head gasket replacement and head skim at 182,782 miles in 2012. A new heavy duty clutch was fitted at 183,836 miles later that same year. The paperwork shows evidence of regular servicing over the years, including a hand-written notebook containing information on all the jobs done on the vehicle from 2007 to 2012. The last service documented was at 193,515 in 2019, since when just over 300 miles have been covered. A new battery was fitted at the same time. The MoTs date back to 2008 and help confirm the mileage. Current MoT is until March 2022. The Defender is in good condition given how many miles it has covered, although the bumpers and hinges show some rust, and there is some paint bubbling on the panels. A new rear door was fitted in 2013. The interior is good, with handy bench seats fitted in the rear, making this a very practical and rugged means of on- and off-road transport. It's the latter we have here; the Finesse being the better-equipped and more expensive variant with alloy wheels, air conditioning, a CD player, fog lamps and metallic paint. This two-owner example has covered just 43,168 miles, with two former owners; one private, one the original supplying Ford dealership. The history includes the original and current V5, spare key, service history (stamped up to 40,662 miles in September 2016) original Ford document wallet with cards, radio codes, booklets, audio guide and owner's handbook, and a selection of general maintenance bills, including a new catalytic converter at 40,193 miles (2016). 1966 Renault Gordini Dauphine Make: Renault Model: Gordini Dauphine Year: 1966Mileage: 38856VIN: 22398Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: ONK914DTransmission: manualThe Gordini was the 'performance' version of Renault's chic and distinctive Dauphine. Named after Italian racing driver and sports car manufacturer Amédée Gordini, among its upgrades were a four-speed transmission and an engine tuned to 37bhp by Gordini. Four-wheel disc brakes appeared in 1964. This 1966 example has been owned by the vendor for 25 years. He reports that an extensive restoration was finished two years ago, but the car then had little use due to the pandemic. During the work, the colour was changed from red to its current vibrant green, with the interior remaining its original red and grey. Many NOS (new old stock) panels and parts were fitted during the renovation. Along with the standard Gordini upgrades, this car features a lightweight radiator, electric cooling fan, electric screen washers, manual choke conversion, alternator and chrome internal door handles. The car will come with two sets of keys, original jack and starting handle, and a rare period Gordini cigarette lighter. Current mileage is recorded as 38,856. 2005 Renault Megane Sport 225 6,577 miles from newMake: Renault Model: Megane Sport Year: 2005Mileage: 6577VIN: VF1CM0M0633205586Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: HK05YHWTransmission: manualAlthough this example of Renault’s very hot hatch of the mid-Noughties is 16 years old, it’s covered a mere 6577 miles in all that time. The rare pre-facelift model is finished in Steel Grey; only 173 of the three-door Sport 225 models were produced for the UK in this shade. Retained by Renault from new, after three months, it passed into the hands of a private owner, but its use was sparing – despite the undoubted appeal of its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine tuned to produce 225bhp, with a 0-60mph of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 147mph. While its owner worked overseas, it was carefully stored until recently. Freshly MoT’d (with the certificate expiring in July 2022), the only flaws to this car, described as with a 'stunning, unmarked' interior, 'very good, original underside', 'lovely' engine bay and 'superb' driving experience by the vendor, are some storage marks on the body, including some scratches on the bonnet. It is, otherwise, unmodified and untouched, even down to the original tyres, and dealer number plates and tax disc holder still in place. The history folder includes the original and current V5, HPI certificate and unused spare key. There's also all the original booklets in their Renault-branded binder, such as the additional Megane Sport information supplement, security information, radio manual, owner's handbook, unstamped service book and other miscellaneous documentation supplied when the car was new. Five wire wheels, with tyres, were fitted (with the wheels themselves coming to £775), and and the engine checked over, with repairs to the gearbox and back axle. New brake pipes were installed while, inside, the dash and door cappings were re-veneered, and the carpets and headlining were replaced. There are a great many bills and receipts dating back to the 1990s, all testifying to a car that has been well-looked after during the last few decades. A lot of these have been handily itemised on a couple of handwritten sheets by one of the owners. For those happy to get their hands dirty, there's a hefty genuine Jaguar workshop manual as well. 1966 Mercedes Benz 220 SE Auto Cabriolet Make: Mercedes Model: 220 SE Year: 1966Mileage: 30587VIN: 11102322079111Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: FUN484DTransmission: automatic Nicknamed Gloria, this 1966 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet was acquired by the vendor in 2000, from a family cousin who owned it from 1981. Prior to that, it's believed that the car was purchased new for use by the chairman of ICI. The present owner has used the car for trips abroad including France and Malta. And it was in Malta, during the early part of the 21st century, that it was restored according to the history file; a task not without incident, as the gearbox parts were stolen en route from Scotland to Malta, and the subsequent delay to the rebuild resulted in Malta customs authorities threatening to impound the car. There's an eye-watering amount of paperwork (albeit only dating back to the 1990s), showing lots of care and attention for even minor issues, and a great deal of expenditure. Some of the more recent jobs involved an engine tune-up in May of this year, rectification of a hot indicator stalk, and new padding for the driver's seat. The selection of MoTs (and other paperwork) suggest the current indicated mileage of 130,587 is genuine. The last MoT expired in April 2019; the car was at 127,710 miles when that test was undertaken. The files also contain the original owner's manual, relevant magazine articles, parts lists and diagrams, old tax discs and photos taken throughout the car's life. The Mercedes-Benz is now in need of some work, with bubbling apparent on both headlamp peaks, the rear quarters, and around the rear wheel arches, most significantly the nearside one. See our pictures for more detail. Inside, there's sun damage to the top of the wooden dash - a common issue with these cars - plus wear to the black leather seats. 1959 Fairthorpe Electron MinorMake: Fairthorpe Model: Electron Minor Year: 1959Mileage: 34904VIN: 10173Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: PPM675Transmission: manualFounded by Australian aviation pioneer and bomber pilot Air Vice Marshall Donald Bennett, Fairthorpe built small sports cars from 1954 to 1973. In 1956, it launched the open two-seater Electron, using a 1098cc overhead-cam Coventry Climax engine. This was followed by the cheaper Electron Minor in 1957, which used the less potent engine, transmission and rear axle from the Standard Ten. With various upgrades over the years, the Electron Minor remained the mainstay of Fairthorpe production until 1973, with about 700 being built. In 1990, this 1959 example was found as a wreck (with some racing modifications), and the owner who took it on had it restored in 1991 and again in 2016. After both rebuilds, it was exhibited at the Classic Motorshow in Birmingham. The history folder includes the current V5 plus the original green logbook, a £3750 bill for the 2015 rebuild plus a number of invoices for more recent parts and work and an extensive collection of Fairthorpe Sports Car Club magazines (including one with PPM 675 on its cover). There's also a small Fairthorpe Electron Minor brochure and an album of photos, showing what we assume is the car's 1991 restoration. The Fairthorpe is good order outside and in, with modern (and more comfortable seats) fitted as well as a radio/CD player. There's also a small collection of rally plaques and rosettes from shows and events previously attended by the Electron Minor. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 6TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1974 Fiat 128 1300 Coupe SLMake: Fiat Model: 128Year: 1974Mileage: 60542VIN: 180243Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GDV614NTransmission: manualBased on the boxy Fiat 128 saloon but with more stylish, fastback styling, the 128 Coupe Sport offered sporty performance in a diminutive but practical package. Survivors are rare these days, with this one believed to be the only right-hand drive 1300 SL in the UK. In oh-so-Seventies Positano Yellow, with black interior and 74bhp 1290cc engine, this Fiat has had five registered keepers. The fourth acquired the car in 1989, but after some engine problems, it was garaged in 1992 and didn't re-emerge until 2009. After an engine rebuild, it was treated to a full body restoration, which was completed in April 2011, with the owner at the time stating that 'it was restored with a view to originality while keeping some of the patina'. A full account of what was done is in the history file, along with a selection of photos. Also in the history folder are the V5, owner's handbook, brochures, magazines, spare keys, show memorabilia and an extensive amount of invoices dating back to 2010, chronicling thousands spent over the past decade or so. There are also two copies of the useful but now unintentionally funny Fiat book of Safe Motoring Hints, with such pearls as not being insulted if a car 'of a class inferior to your own' passes you and how 'use of the horn and lights is not an insurance policy against accidents'. Along with a set of spare keys, there are also a 'loads of spare parts to go with the car'. The exterior of the 128 Coupe is in excellent condition, while the interior has been left more untouched. Nevertheless, aside from a small bit of dash damage in one corner, it's also in very good order. The car runs and drives very well, with a nice rorty note from the exhaust to remind you that you're in something Italian and a bit racy. While it started life in 1974 as a 350SL, it was fitted with an OM617 3.0-litre five-cylinder diesel engine and five-speed manual transmission from a contemporary W123 saloon some years ago, with the conversion being carried out by Ken Dalton of 'Kensbenz' fame. These motors are regarded as among the most reliable ever constructed, with over 600,000 miles between rebuilds quite common. The odometer reads 136,300 miles on this car, although that is not warranted and, presumably, includes the days when it had its original petrol engine. Recent work undertaken includes a re-cored radiator, replacement rear brake calipers and discs, and new front subframe mountings and anti-roll bar bushes. The vendor describes the car as 'generally presentable, although it could be improved. It also has a small dent to the nearside rear wing', He also reports the interior as 'pretty good, but has some wear to the driver's door card' while the soft-top is 'fully-functional, however, as it is original to the car, it is in need of refurbishment'.
