An early 20th century clockwork rowing boat toy, comprising metal hulled (zinc?) painted boat with clockwork motor wound via a shaft on the fore deck with manual brake, this activates the boy doll figure to row the boat. The boy doll is integral with the oars and has a bisque head and contemporary clothing and straw hat, rear of boys head impressed mark Schoenan & Hoffmeister. The girl figure has a composition face and a fine miniature straw hat (needs cleaning) and may represent the boys mother. The mechanism is working and has an old key. The boat has a multiple position rudder and appears to be intended for pond use. Good for age despite of paint flaking from hull Condition Report / Extra Information 49cm the rudder 43cm to hull
