As demand remained so high, the Dolly was established as permanent 2CV model, albeit based on the basic 2CV Special rather than the more luxurious Club. In the UK, it became the best-selling 2CV version, outselling all the other variants combined in some years. We're told by the vendor that this smart 1985 example has been reconditioned and is 'all ready to go'. It's in good order inside and out, with the roll-back roof is in fine, fully weatherproof condition, and drives well. The odometer shows 72,633 miles and the MoT is valid until July 2023. It started out making Ferrari Daytona replicas based on the Rover SD1, along with Super Sevens after production by Lotus ended. The Robin Hood was introduced in 1989 using Triumph mechanicals. The monocoque style chassis was manufactured using a Triumph Dolomite or, later, Ford Cortina and Ford Sierra as a donor vehicle. The Robin Hood policy was for all the bits for a kit to come from a single donor vehicle, rather than a variety of different machines. A new style, more advanced chassis was adopted for the Robin Hood 2B of 1999, as here. This example was registered in August 2001, and has had three former registered keepers according to its V5C. 4905 miles are showing on its odometer, although this total isn't warranted. However, a check of the online history shows that at the first MoT for which there is any information (June 2006), the mileage was only 3302 miles, and annual use was minimal. The current MoT is valid until June 2023. The vendor purchased it after it had been stored in a garage for around five years after its previous lady owner passed away. He carried out a service, changing the plugs, leads, rotor cap, cambelt, thermostat, temperature sensor and oil, air and fuel filters, after which it was put through an MoT. The history folder contains just the V5C along with the current MoT certificate.

The paperwork file includes the V5C, a Triumph Roadster Club technical handbook for the model, the final 2015 tax disc for the car, and a single bill from 2003 for new door panels and a hood. During the vendor's ownership since 2021, he has renewed the steering column U/J, track ends, ignition, changed the oil and filter, spark plugs and points. Recently it benefits from two new front tyres and new Fullex door seals. Fitted with Rostyle wheels. Driven 50 miles to the auction, the vendor advises that the gear changes, synchros, rear axle all appear good with no 'clonks' or 'bangs'. The car would benefit from some TLC and some work to improve. For example, the overdrive is not currently working, the fuel gauge is erratic and the drivers door lock is temperamental. As an historic vehicle, it is now exempt from MoT testing; its last test was in June 2019 at 22,455 miles. It's unknown when any conversion or restoration was carried out, as the vendor purchased the car in 2017 with no history (save for the dealer stating that it had recently had a new clutch, reconditioned starter motor, new gear stick bushes, ignition switch, rear brake calipers and reconditioned main bearings in the gearbox). However, a colour change was recorded in March 2016. The vendor covered approximately 3000 miles in three years with no serious issues, but has not used the car for the last two years and now feels it would benefit from some light recommissioning, including a new bonnet release cable as the current one is broken. However, the vendor believes that the car is 'generally in good condition for its age and a very useable classic'. The P6's odometer shows 58,260 miles, although this isn't warranted. The Rover's last MoT expired in October 2019, although as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires annual testing. There was a new cambelt, water pump, radiator and oil cooler in December 2019. A suspension refresh was carried out in March 2020 with new front and rear springs, rear shocks, droplinks and rear suspension arms. The MoT certificates on file go back to 2005. There's also the owner's handbook, service book and ICS instructions, along with a spare set of keys. It is, unfortunately, impossible to read the odometer as its display is pixelated - and has been since 2014, when 53,242 miles were recorded). According to the previous owner, the display was intermittent and last mileage noted was 82,123 miles in 2019, when the cambelt was replaced.
