AN ARNOLD DOLMETSCH (HASLEMERE, SURREY) SINGLE MANUAL HARPSICHORD, having a canted triangular body, stamped ", stamped "545" within circular mark "ARNOLD DOLMETSCH", "1950" beneath, five octaves, with yew and ebony pedal keys, 103cm x 98cm x 81cm high, (40.5in x 38.6in x 32in), sold with soft-cover **** Arnold Dolmetsch, (1858-1940) was an important figure in the revival of early music in the early 20th century. In 1898 he made the "Green Harpsichord" for an Art & Crafts Society Exhibition, at the suggestion of William Morris. He was a leading advocate in the reintroduction of the now ubiquitous recorder into school music-making.
1955 Excelsior 150c.c. Courier C2 Reg.No. DSL 836 Engine No. C/1419 Frame No. SPC 346. Introduced for the 1955 season, the Courier was fitted with a 147c.c. engine of Excelsior's own manufacture coupled to a three speed gearbox. This unusual survivor is in very good restored condition and comes with the original manual.
1987 B.M.W. M535i Saloon Reg.No. E596 SOA Engine No. 42804092 Chassis No. WBADC 720200646104. Manual with desirable "dog-leg" gearbox. Best described as an honest car, there are one or two minor blemishes but we are informed by the owner that the car runs well and comes with an M.O.T. Certificate valid until April 2005. A thick history file comes with this car.

Barnard (George). The Theory and Practice of Landscape Painting in Water-Colours, 7th thousand, Routledge, Warne and Routledge, 1861, twenty-six plts., including thenty-four printed by the Leighton Bros. Chromatic Process and two tinted lithos, orig. blue cloth, upper cover and spine blocked in gilt to a flower and leaf design, lower cover blocked in blind, a.e.g., together with a new edition of the same work, George Routledge & Sons, 1871, with the same illusts., orig. green cloth, blocked as above, a.e.g., good bright copies, large 8vo. The later printing is inscribed "Henry Doulton Esq. with the Author's best respects", and has the bookplates of Sir Henry Doulton, and of H. Lewis Doulton. McLean, Design, p.192 ".... a most interesting manual of what could be achieved at that time by colour printing". McLean described two plates as "among the most improbable examples of colour printing of the whole century". (2)
A WORKSPLATE "North British Locomotive Company Ltd Glasgow No.27976.1961". As carried by BR B-B 2200 H.P. diesel hydraulic Type 4 'Warship' D847 "STRONGBOW". It entered traffic at Plymouth Laira on 22nd April 1961 and was finally withdrawn from there on 27th March 1971 after a very useful life of less than 10 years! It went to Swindon for scrap and was cut up by March 1972. Diamond cast aluminium, 131/2"x51/2", just lightly face-cleaned. It is accompanied by the North British Locomotive's official Instruction Manual for Transmission Maintenance.
