A 1964 Commer Cob 7cwt Series III van, registration number 978 TTA, chassis number B631888, engine number B631888, azure blue. The Commer Cob a Rootes Group model was a panel van based on the Hillman Husky estate. The first version of the lightweight commercial appeared in the 1950s. The Cob saw a steady development over its production with improvements to the engine, seating and bodywork through Series I II & III. This charming Series III Cob was originally supplied by Blue Star Garages Ltd, Axminster, Devon to its first owner a Mr W Newbury, a farmer from Colyton, Devon. The original order form is on file stating that Mr Newbury paid £452.8.2 plus an allowance of £20 for a part exchange. Mr Newbury retained the car for twenty years adding 20,000 miles to the odometer using the van to transport the odd calf to Axminster market. Mr Newbury?s daughter and son in law then owned the Cob for a short period before part exchanging it. The next custodian added a further 20,000 miles on the clock until our vendors father purchased the van in 2005 with 42,000 on the odometer. The Cob had been in storage for six or so years and required some recommissioning and repairs but was soon back on the road. Over the next 14 years the van was steadily improved but still retains an honest and genuine appearance which has been admired at local classic car events. Now displaying a believed 55,000 miles from new this refreshingly original Cob will be offered for auction with a history file containing an original owners instruction manual, a run of previous MOTs, tax discs, receipts and the original order form.V5C, MOT and tax exemptSee illustrationsAll lots in this sale are sold as is and bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. This manual overdrive Reliant has been well maintained since and the vendor informs us that this has resulted in a good driving car. The Scimitar is fitted with a full stainless steel exhaust system and will be offered for auction with its bill of sale from Graham Walker Ltd, some maintenance receipts since 2012, a workshop manual and an original sales brochure. A 1972 Rover P5B Coupé, registration number COX 950K, chassis number 845068860, engine number 84017664, silver birch over Arden green. Introduced in 1969, the P5B featured the new Buick 3.5 litre V8 engine in the svelte coupé and saloon body styles. They found favour with government ministers, the business elite and even had royal patronage. As a coupé version COX 950K is one of the most sort after examples with its contrasting colour lowered roofline, sculpted rear seats and Rostyle wheels. COX 950K was originally supplied by main Rover dealers Colliers, Abbey Road Garage Ltd. Erdington, Birmingham, to its first owners, CH Brown & Sons Ltd, Birmingham, for the princely sum of £2,836.80 including optional extras of a heated rear window and two tone paint (original bill of sale on file). Brown & Sons would retain the Rover for eighteen years having all maintenance and servicing carried out by Colliers (receipts on file). Since then there have been four other recorded keepers including our our vendor. Presented in arguably the best colour combination of silver birch over Arden green with a saddle tan leather interior, COX 950K is said by our vendor to be running and driving but is now in need of some TLC to bring the car up to its former glory having seen little recent use. The Rover will be offered for auction with a vast history file contained within two ring files with the original sales invoice, maintenance receipts, previous MOTs, magazine articles, original owners manual and workshop manual. V5C to follow, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations All lots in this sale are sold as is and bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
