A PAIR OF CHINESE MOTHER OF PEARL CARVINGS, KANGXI MARK, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH C 20.5cm w with engraved detail, wood stands and a smaller Chinese mother of pearl carving of later date (3) ++One with several peripheral rim chips, the other with minor crack in the surrounding engraved diaper border
A CAUGHLEY OVAL TEAPOT AND MATCHING TEA BOWL, C1788-93 enamelled with the Flaming Pearl pattern, teapot 11.5cm h, with a reproduction cover (3) A Chamberlain order dated 10th May 1793 included "1 large oval teapot new model." This is the earliest reference of the transition to oval shapes. The pattern is the same as the New Hall factory's No 202. ++Some wear No Reserve

A CAUGHLEY COFFEE CUP OF RARE SHAPE FROM AN INITIALLED SERVICE, C1795 enamelled with the Salopian Chain pattern, 6.5cm h Provenance: Godden Reference Collection. Exhibited: 2005, No 235. This very rare cup shape from a non standard Caughley mould, with 26 rather than the usual 24 reeds and a double grooved handle, was with the Godden Service (lot 76 above). One other example has been seen in the Flaming Pearl pattern. ++Good condition No Reserve
A CAUGHLEY POLYCHROME SHANKED TEAPOT STAND AND SIMILAR SLOP BASIN, C1795 enamelled with the Flaming Pearl and Flaming Pearl Sprigs patterns, basin 15.5cm diam Exhibited: (the bowl) 2005, No 251. There were two different moulds for Caughley spiral fluted bowls in 1790s. On the bowl in lot 76 the top of the spiral curves below the vertical, as do the key pieces introduced in 1792 and decorated at Chamberlains. (see the jug in lot 47). On the present bowl, the spirals end vertically, as on the c1795 sucrier and jug in lot 76. The stand is from the same mould as the one in lot 76. ++Basin with minor crack; typical wear No Reserve
