A sapphire and diamond ring, the central octagonal mixed cut transparent blue sapphire claw set with a baguette cut diamond to each shoulder, all set in yellow gold, ring size M 1/2, weight 8.2gms With accompanying certificate from The Gem and Pearl Laboratory No. 19591 issued 16 February 2021, stating that the sapphire is 14.55ct (measurements 12.8 x 10.7 x 11.6mm) that the sapphire is natural Sri Lankan and that 'No evidence of heat treatment was observed' CONDITION REPORT: Overall condition is very good. All stones are present, secure and in tact. The central sapphire has some small abrasions to the other facet edges, and some abrasion to one of the edges of the table facet. Claws are secure, though one claw (pictured top left in first image) has a less tidy finish then the other claws.. Shank is in good order, no splitting, thinning or signs of damage or repair or resizing. Minor scratching and wear only.View down, the colour is more of a vivid cornflower blue at the centre, and appears darker, richer at the corners. Viewed from the side, it is closer to a cornflower blue. Colour zoning, fingerprint and crystal inclusions are visible through the top of the stone, focused at the centre radiating outward - they are pale, and vary from transparent to translucent. Some are reflective when turned under natural light.This ring is less then five years old.Please only bid if you are entirely satisfied with the condition of your lot.
