Two Indian 14ct gold gem set rings, the high domed rings with pierced and filigree scroll decorated shoulders, one with green cabochon and clear cut stones, the other with various semi-precious cabochon and clear cut stones, ring size M; together with two Indian silver cut stone and seed pearl pavé set rings. (4)
A Japanese carved ivory, Shibayama and mother of pearl okimono of a parasol maker, Meiji period (1868-1912), the diorama on a four lobed base, the man seated cross legged sawing wood, in a Shibayama decorated tunic, a half-finished parasol on a stand to his left, two other completed parasols on the ground, a black stained ivory tool box and gold pique work ivory box to his side, raised on four scroll carved bracket feet, signed with inset tortoiseshell tablet with two character mark to base, 4½in. (11.5cm.) wide, some losses.* Condition: Top and part of rim of pique work basket missing. Contains two broken parasols from other okimonos. Basket possibly reattached, as glue visible beneath. Likewise, MOP & faux wood column to side is raised slightly, with glue visible beneath. No other damage noted.
A Ryukyuan island carved wooden stand, early 19th century, red lacquer with burnished augmentation, mother of pearl flower and berries on flowing tendrils, square top surface with raised rim and incuse corners, raised on shaped pierced platform above a flared and rounded shaped apron, on four long bowed supports with upturned feet seated on an incused corner base with circular central reserve, 24in. (61cm.) high, 15in. (38cm.) diameter.
A pair of finely carved wooden Chinese frames, 19th century, carved with auspicious emblems - the upper area having flaming pearl flanked by two bats above a cloud form reserve of farmers and oxen, upper corners bearing in flight phoenix, the sides are modelled as serpentine form dragons, lower section with two piscean figures above waves flanked by mythical beasts, inset rectangular frame holding Canton watercolours of Emperor and Empress, 14½ x 9½in. (37.8 x 24.1cm.). (2)
A 19th century graduated pearl single strand necklace, the pearls graduated from 3mm. to 5.5mm., of variable tone and lustre, probably some later replacements, with a rose gold and seed pearl 'mourning' clasp with plaited hair, 17¼in. (43.75cm.) long, deterioration to surface of some pearls.
An 18ct yellow gold, Tanzanite, Tsavorite, pearl and diamond necklet, en suite to lot 820, the main oval setting with collet set oval cut Tanzanite above an opposed oval cut Tsavorite, the pierced flared and hinged mounts similarly set and with diamond line set terminals to a fancy link chain, with detachable diamond and pearl drop.
A Channel Islands apprentice piece miniature mahogany chest on chest, mid-19th century, the stepped cornice with concealed storage beneath removable panel (originally on pin & loop hinge, now loose), over a diamond line inlaid frieze and four long graduated drawers with turned ebony handles and mother-of-pearl escutcheons, the canted corners with boxwood edge stringing, over a three drawer base, raised on swept feet united by a wavy apron 11¼ x 6¼in. (28.5 x 16cm.), 21¾in. (55.25cm.) high.
Two Chinese carved hardwood low tables, late 19th century, one with scalloped bead work edge with pink variegated marble inset encompassed by inlaid mother of pearl prunus branch border, over a pierced frieze with floral mother of pearl decoration, on four cabriole supports with fierce mask carving to knees above ball and claw feet, united by concave stretchers; the second of conforming design and size but without mother of pearl inlay, both 18in. (45.75cm.) high, 21in. (53.5cm.) diameter. (2)* Condition: - MOP inlaid table: Several cracks to marble and a few chipped areas where cracks cross. Two minor losses to MOP inlay to top border. Approx. 11 MOP petals missing from flowers and centre of most flowers missing. Two losses from large MOP lappets at top of frieze. Joints of stretcher loose. Chip to end of one stretcher at joint with leg. - Second table: Pale circular water stain from a vase or jardiniere to marble top. Small filled chip to edge of marble and small chip to wood at border of marble. Dark spirit stain to edge of top. Small split to one section of pierced frieze. Top very loose - several joints need gluing.
A large 19th century Chinese silk dragon panel, worked in shades of gold and black with gold thread details, depicting two dragons either side of a central pearl roundel, against a background of stylised cloud scrolls, 95½ x 21¾in. (242.5 x 51.25cm.), within a reeded mahogany frame with crane and flower printed fabric dust cover backing, with separate hanging support rail. (2)
An antique 18ct yellow gold, pearl, ruby and diamond bee pendant brooch, c.1900, the bee with a single large natural pearl as the abdomen, the thorax with a single old brilliant cut diamond, approx. 1ct, the wings and head set with rose cut diamonds, the eyes with cabochon rubies, size 4.5 x 2.7cm., in a Garrard & Co. Ltd. box.* Condition: Pearl appears to have old over painting with 'pearl' effect paint to try to disguise deterioration to surface - some peeling of top layer visible beneath. Diamonds all appear original and no losses. Centre diamond of good clarity with just a few minute carbon spots and one small inclusion towards edges. Cut culet. No damage. Rubies have minor frits to top. No damage or repairs to gold work - tiny marks and minor wear to edges throughout.
An early 19th century ivory toothpick case, oblong form, inlaid with rose gold and tortoiseshell decoration, the central oval reserve scene with seed pearl and wire beehive on guilloche enamel background under convex glass, rose gold push button release and hinge, opening to reveal tarnished mirror over green velvet lining, 3½in. (8.7cm.) long.
A vintage diamond and pearl necklet, Continental, 1930s-40s, with three oval open settings in white gold plated silver, each set with eleven graduated old brilliant cut diamonds, divided by single cultured pearls and each suspending a larger pearl, on a graduated seed pearl necklet with marcasite clasp, 15¾in. (40cm.) long.
A Moorish inlaid octagonal table, early 20th century, the panelled top with parquetry, ebony and mother-of-pearl border enclosing a central foliate marquetry, ebony, boxwood and mother-of-pearl inlaid geometric panel, with central Arabic calligraphy, the octagonal base with conforming decoration and eight integral bevelled supports with parquetry banding, 19½in. (49.5cm.) diameter, 24½in. (64.25cm.) high.
