VICTORIAN COROMANDEL LADY'S BRASS MOUNTED VANITY BOX revealing fitted interior containing assorted glass and silver topped dressing table jars, hallmarked London 1872, maker's mark: J.V (possibly Joshua Vander), together with assorted mother-of-pearl handled vanity instruments with lift out drawer revealing secret drawer to base. 29.5cm wide x 16.5 cm high x 22cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: Secret drawer and mechanism is not functioning properly and drawer is therefore stuck. The Coromandel is slightly faded in places with surface wear, scratches etc as commensurate with age. Vanity set is incomplete. One glass dressing table jar missing glass but top present. Some of the silver topped lids are bent and dented. Hallmarks are legible but with some rubbed areas to different pieces.
LATE GEORGIAN, REGENCY PERIOD MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID TORTOISESHELL BOW FRONTED TEA CADDY, having hinged sarcophagus type cover, revealing two compartments to the interior with ivory knobs and banding, the body with further mother-of-pearl foliate and inset decoration flanked by three quarter pilasters to the angles, standing on ivory feet. 18 x 11 x 13cm high approx. CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good condition for its age, no immediately apparent damage or losses, bun feet are cracked through.
