An amethyst, citrine and cultured pearl fringe necklace, the trace-link chain suspending a fringe of alternate pear-shaped faceted amethyst and citrine drops, spaced by single cultured pearls, 18ct gold mounted, maker's mark D&F, length 47cmLight surface wear, scuffs and nicks/small chips to necklace mounts and gemstones. One of the pear-shaped settings has a dark solder join/repair to the tip. Surface blemishes to cultured pearls, each has a subtle pinkish-white lustre. The pear-shaped gemstones measure approximately 9.5mm length x 7 - 8mm width each. Clasp currently functions. Length of stone set section 25.5cm. Hallmarked for Birmingham 2004. Gross weight approximately 14.3gm.

Lot 17

A 19th century amethyst and half pearl cluster brooch, the oval mixed-cut amethyst collet set within a row of half pearls, edged with ropetwist wirework borders, gold mounted, (half pearls untested for origin), length 3.85cmAmethyst has faint feather inclusions and good transparency, with surface scuffs and occasional nicks/small chips, measuring approximately 25.5mm length x 20mm width x 10.6mm depth. Half pearls are well matched with occasional chips/fractures and surface wear, some with patchy grease residue. The mount has a small area of possible solder repair to the rim, near to the clasp, with otherwise surface wear, scuffs and nicks throughout. The pin is functioning. Patchy tarnishing to mount at half pearl border. Vacant apertures to back suggest possible prior use of another fitting. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approximately 21.6gm.

Shallow dings to back of cluster settings, one has a very small hole/split. A cameo and half pearl cluster ring, the oval hardstone cameo carved to depict a classical male portrait profile, bordered by half pearls, between fleur-de-lys shoulders, stamped '9CT', (half pearls untested for origin), ring size approximately PThe reverse of the setting has been repaired with a reinforcing panel, at the junction with one of the shoulders. The other shoulder also has fine splits and may require repair. The shank has been re-sized and has associated dark solder joins. Occasional shallow dings to side of setting. Scuffs and nicks/chips to cameo and mount, commensurate for use. Surface wear, creases and shallow blemishes to the half pearls, most have discoloured to slightly greyish hues. Setting measures 2.35cm length x 1.95cm width. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approximately 8.1gm.

An amethyst and half pearl bangle, of hinged hollow oval form, the tapered frontispiece with a circular mixed-cut amethyst and half pearl cluster, framed by foliate and bead accents, stamped '9CT', (two half pearls deficient), inner diameter 5.8cmGeneral surface wear to bangle mount, with scattered dings and creases to the bangle and patchy wear to the tips of the claw setting. The frontispiece is slightly mis-shapen and there are two fine splits to one side, with a small pit/hole to one of the beads. The clasp is currently functioning. Two half pearls are missing. Sapphires are chipped and scuffed, with an opaque, included appearance. Surface wear, scuffs and scratches to ring mount, shank has been re-sized and has associated porosity. An amethyst and cultured pearl matched necklace and bracelet suite, comprising a triple strand bracelet, designed as rows of amethyst beads alternating with cultured pearls and yellow metal spacers, the clasp stamped '375', and a similar single strand necklace, with 9ct gold frosted spherical clasp, (strand broken), lengths 19cm and 82cm respectively (2)Bracelet: surface wear throughout. Some of the amethyst beads have surface-reaching fractures/fissures and small chips/nicks, some of the cultured pearls have surface blemishes. Stringing is loose in places, re-stringing may be required. The clasp is tight fitting. Metal standard of the spacer beads is untested. Width approximately 2.5cm. Gross weight approximately 48.5gm. Necklace: the strand is broken and will require re-stringing. Some of the beads and cultured pearls are loose, but can be added back in. Surface wear throughout. Some of the amethyst beads have surface-reaching fractures/fissures and small chips/nicks, some of the cultured pearls have surface blemishes and most have grease traces. The clasp is tight fitting and has maker's mark 'MH'. Metal standard of the spacer beads is untested. Gross weight approximately 73gm.

The clasp is tight fitting and has surface wear, scuffs and nicks. Gemstones are well matched and lively. Sapphires have fracture and fissure inclusions with surface wear and chips/nicks. Total diamond weight approximately 0.12ct. Marks are clearly struck. Diameter of clasp 2.3cm. Gross weight of clasp only approximately 10gm. Total gross weight approximately 87gm.
