Minor to moderate wear to the nacre of the pearls, but no cracks, chips or losses. Stones appear to be secure. Shank may be a later replacement (see pictures for illustration). Some thinning to shank, but no splits or misshaping. Piece would benefit from professional cleaning.Middle: Heavy abrasions to the facet edges of the central stone, heavy scratching to the central table. No large chips, cracks or losses. Large chip to one of the peridots on the facet edge. Heavy abrasions to the facet edges and scratching to the tables of both peridots. Heavy wear to the claws and settings, gaps visible between the stones and settings. Shoulders in good order, some wear to decoration, but no splitting or signs of repair. Some minor misshaping and thinning to the shank, but no splitting or signs of repair.Right: Large fracture to one of the outer gemstones Other stones are in tact, but show moderate scratching and abrasion. All diamond chips are present. Heavy wear to the claws and settings - gaps are visible around many of the gemstones. Shank shows signs of thinning, general scratching and wear, but there are no splits, resizing or repair. Hallmarks are worn, but inscription to interior is clear. Piece would benefit from professional cleaning.

A CHINESE IMPERIAL YELLOW-GROUND GREEN ENAMELLED 'DRAGON' MEDALLION BOWL SIX CHARACTER YONGZHENG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1723-1735 The deep rounded sides raised on a short tapered foot and gently flaring towards the rim, the lemon-yellow exterior finely incised and enamelled with four apple-green medallions, each shaped as a scaly five-clawed dragon entwined with fiery tendrils in pursuit of a flaming pearl, with wispy ruyi-shaped clouds dividing the beasts, all above a band of lotus-shaped lappets, the interior similarly decorated with a writhing dragon leaping towards a single sacred pearl, the base with a six character Yongzheng mark in underglaze blue within a double circle, together with a wood stand, 14.3cm dia. (2) Provenance: from the collection of Mr Charles Sydney Cheston, painter, d.1960, and thence by descent, recorded in Charles Cheston's 1946 catalogue as purchased for £15 from Hawley. Cf. A French Art Nouveau enamel and pearl pendant by Georges Le Turcq, circa 1900, the gold foliate pendant formed of entwined tendrils with plique-à-jour enamel gingko leaves and three pearl highlights, suspended from an unassociated cable-link chain, pendant with maker’s mark and French assay mark, pendant length 55mm. £800-£1,200 --- Georges Le Turcq (1859-1940) trained at Paris École des Arts Décoratifs before partnering with fellow jeweller Julien Duval in 1885. At the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle, the pair exhibited an extraordinary series of enamelled butterflies, insects and orchids alongside the acclaimed display by Tiffany & Co., of a similarly enamelled collection of twenty-five orchids. The partnership ended in 1894 and both went on to become extremely successful jewellers in their own right. Le Turcq continued to specialise in plique-à-jour enamel and worked in the characteristic Art Nouveau style inspired by Japanese design, organic form and flora. He continued to sell pieces under his own name as well as partnering with other jewellers, such as Vernier for the Faust bracelet in 1895, and creating pieces for the larger houses including Boucheron and Cartier.
