A late 19th Century J Donzel fan, the lacework leaf set with courting couple with chaperone and cherub in background, signed in right hand corner with mother of pearl sticks with pierced gilt decoration, framed and glazedCondition ReportNo major splits apparent to the central painted panel / gauze although difficult to see in some cases. There appears to be a split on the gauze centrally just above the cherub. There is a small hole in line with a hole on one of the sticks. One of the front mother of pearl sticks appears to have a crack although again, difficult to tell under glass. Lace has some discolouration. Has general wear and tear conducive with age and use. Fan appears to be firmly attached to the backing. See images for more details.
