A Wedgwood Pottery lustre bowl designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones, the exterior printed and painted with fish swimming amidst waterweed, in colours and gilt on a streaked green ground, the interior with a band of waterweed on a pearl lustre ground printed Wedgwood mark, 26.5cm. diam. Literature Una Des Fontaines Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre, page 79 plate 10 for a line drawing of two of the fish on this bowl. Although originally designing elaborate and grotesque fish patterns, their unpopularity led Daisy to create a range of more realistic fish.
