Two mid 19th century garnet and seed pearl mourning brooches, the first with a rectangular glazed panel with blonde hairwork, surrounded by seed pearls and round garnets, set in unmarked rose gold (tests as approx. 14ct or better), 24mm long, (4.8g), together with another similar example with brown hairwork, all set in unmarked yellow gold, (tests as approx. 14ct or better), 26mm long, (5.4g). Overall condition good.Several pearls damaged.Several garnets abraded.One garnet fractured.Lead solder evident to backs of both.
A large Chinese porcelain dragon charger, 19th century, the charger of circular shape decorated with two iron-red five clawed confronting dragons between a flaming pearl amidst ruyi clouds, the reverse of rim decorated with two further dragons unusually decorated in white and pink, 37.5cm diameter (at fault) CONDITION REPORT: Extensive repaired crack. Stained star crack. Chips to rim. Glaze pooling and bubbling. Surface scratches and gilt wear. Some pitting.

A Baroque style lacquered cabinet on stand, 19th century, the cabinet decorated with blossom trees and birds with mother of pearl, with two doors enclosing an arrangement of eight drawers, on a 19th century gilt pine and gesso stand, with eagle monopodia legs and claw and ball feet, 131cm H x 87cm W x 52cm D (At fault) CONDITION REPORT: The exterior of the cabinet is faded with general knocks and scuffs throughout and some wear to the gilt detailing on all sides, some water marks etc. The lacquer finish is 'rough' to the touch in parts. The back panel with two long horizontal marks and other damage to the lacquer. Two of the corner metal mounts to the base are loose / misshapen, all metal mounts with some tarnishing. The lock to the main door is loose and the other two locks internally are loose. Some chips and wear to the edges of the doors. Internally the colour is much better, some rubbing to the gilding and general wear - more so to the edges of the drawers. There is a large section of the mother of pearl inlay lacking to the bird on the right hand door and other sections of inlay lacking. The base has old worm damage and is heavily worn and faded throughout. Three of the missing sections of the wood are present in one of the drawers. There are other losses. Base in poor condition. The top and the base may not be original to one another.
A seed pearl set lady's wristwatch, early 20th century, the circular face with seed pearl set bezel, enclosing a white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and decorative gilt hands, the back cover set throughout with seed pearls, inner case stamped 16562 'SG', movement stamped 'Swiss Made' attached expanding strap, gross weight 22.7gms CONDITION REPORT: The reverse of the case has two missing pearls. Not currently ticking. Winding crown not functioning. Crystal with some scratching.
A 19th century silver French 'Boulle' work serpentine work box, in 18th century style, the exterior with gilt metal mounts and inlaid with foliate scroll mounts and mother of pearl against an ebonised ground, the lid enclosing an elaborate white metal interior with seven lidded compartments with filigree finials, a cartouche shaped raised detailing to the front in a different white metal, the underside of the lid inset with a mirror with embossed scroll frame, carved ivory 'M' monogram to the top and an Italian Micromosaic plaque of St Peters Rome, (alterations / additions), 16.5cm high x 38.5cm wide x 25cm deep CONDITION REPORT: Case - Wear to the ebonised finish. Central brass cartouche lifting and would need attention. Some losses to the mother of pearl inlay, back left brass foot detached, but is present. Interior - appears to be relatively complete, silver finish worn through on compartment lids, silvering to the mirror has perished in places. Small key present but doesn't appear to fit the lock or movement. There are no other keys present. General surface scratching and wear commensurate with age. Trevanion & Dean does not ship items containing ivory or tortoiseshell outside the EU. The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory which sources suggest will come into effect between July and October 2019. Please note, this means that this lot is legal to sell now but may not be in the future.
'The Princess Grace Royal Anniversary Rose' designed by Igor Carl Faberge, No. 270/750, the silver gilt rose bloom with green enamelled leaf detail and imitation pearl lily of the valley sprays with central flower head opening to reveal a pin cushion, all raised on a retangular green marble base, the underside signed 'Igor Carl Faberge' and dated '1981 FM', hallmarked for Franklin Mint, Import mark, circa 1981, 18cm wide, within fitted box CONDITION REPORT: Overall in very good condition, no obvious sign of any damage. This piece was originally supposed to have a brooch with it we believe - there is no brooch present with this piece.
dating: 18th Century provenance: Innsbruck, Octagonal, rifled, 12 mm cal. barrel, engraved and signed in silver 'Franz Schlögl zu Innsbruck', iron rear sight and brass fore-sight, tang engraved with '2'. Replaced flintlock with safety lock and crowned monogram 'P I' (for Pietro I of Brazil and Portugal). Wooden, full stock, embossed with floral motifs in bass-relief, brass mounts with anatomical trigger-guard, patchbox, horn fore-end cap and band on the butt side, with mother-of-pearl decorations. Brass-tipped iron, replaced ramrod. length 117 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Vietnam, Smooth-bore, two-stage, 11 mm cal. barrel, with decorations at the girdle and fore-sight; lock with remains of engravings. Wooden, half stock, decorated with mother-of-pearl inlays, checkered grip. Metal trigger-guard, decorated in bronze, silver and nielloed. No ramrod. length 146 cm.
dating: machi Period (1392-1573) provenance: Japan, Mino school blade, late Muromachi period, (nagasa 53.3 cm) with well visible hamon and hada, hi. Nakago with one mekugi ana. Copper habaki. Mounted with wooden shaft of elliptical section, covered with mother-of-pearl blocks in the first part (parts missing) and with metal mounts, pierced with hearts. Metal foot. Complete with wooden saya, lacquered in brown, decorated with golden grape vines. length 222 cm.
