Collen", 16cm x 13cm (faults) Henry Collen (9 October 1797-8 May 1879) was a miniature portrait painter to Queen Victoria and the Duchess of Kent. Later in life he turned to photography and was on the cutting edge in photography in mid-19th Century in London. He had great technical expertise and ability to transfer his ideas and dated that he had gathered to new and different fields, such as painting and studies of light, optics and the science of photography.
